Early Friday morning Mr Craig Hood from Lanarkshire caught a 2lb and 3lb sea trout at the Luther Pool followed a 6lb grilse. 2mm of rain fell but didn’t even dampen the ground far less give the river a lift.

This week so far ……
Despite the incredibly low water conditions and bright sun fresh fish are still running and stopping in the pools, especially sea trout and now grilse.
On Monday 11th July Mr Matt Davis from Sheffield had a 2lb sea trout from the Upper Weir and a 1.5lb sea trout from the Boat Pool.
July 12th Mr Jamie Mcallister from Houston Renfrewshire had 2x 2lb sea trout from the Boat Pool and a 10lb salmon also from the Boat Pool.
Mr. Matt Davis had a 5lb grilse from the Luther and a 1.5lb sea trout from the Bridges.
July 13th Mr. David Brown from Alford Aberdeenshire caught a 2lb and 3lb sea trout from the Luther Pool.
There were fish caught today but awaiting details.

Catch up on the rest of last weeks catches. July 2nd Billy Auld from Ayrshire had 6x sea trout to 3.5lb from the Luther, Upper Stobb and Bridges Pools.
Mr Colin Gorman from Ayrshire had 2x 3lb sea trout and an 8lb salmon from the Luther Pool. Mr Alan Rankin from Hamilton had 2x sea trout to 3lb from the Bridges and Upper Stobb.
Master Findlay Rankin had his second catch of the season with us on Saturday a 1.5lb sea trout from the Upper Stobb.

Early Thursday morning Mr Gordon Wyllie from Kirriemuir caught 6 sea trout to 3lb from the Boat Pool, Blue Stone and Lower Weir Pools. During this spell of sunny days night time fishing is certainly proving to be more productive!

Thursday 23rd June - Fishing darkness hours proved to be successful this week.
Mr Christopher Sandground from Falkirk had four sea trout all weighing 2lb each caught at the Boat Pool. Mr Gordon Wyllie from Kirriemuir Angus also had four sea trout weighing 2lb each and also a 4lb Grilse all caught at the Luther Pool. Mr Andrew Tuten Kirkintilloch caught a 2lb sea trout from the Boat Pool and Mr Derek Leiper from Pert Farm Laurencekirk caught a 2lb sea trout from the Bridges. Mr Stuart Ingles from Bishopton and Mr Alastair Kerr from Glasgow had three 2lb sea trout between them caught at the Boat Pool.

Tuesday 21st June - Mr Robert McGhee from Forfar caught 1.75lb sea trout at the Luther, Mr Grant Taylor from Forfar caught a 1.5lb sea trout also from the Luther.

A successful couple of days despite the low water.
On Friday Mr.John Murray from Ayrshire caught a 10lb Salmon at the Upper Weir.
Saturday saw Mr.Sandy Stein from Denny caught a 7lb Salmon from the Boat Pool and Mr.Ray Higney from Falkirk caught an 8lb salmon from the Luther Pool.

On Saturday there was an 8lb Salmon and a 2.5lb sea trout caught at the Boat Pool by Mr. David Christie from East Kilbride.
Mr James Miller from Dumbartonshire caught a 3lb sea trout at the Luther.
Hopefully the rain over the past few days will help a little with water levels.
