The firsts travelled to Carew knowing that promotion to Division 2 was already secured and that just 6 points were required for the title. After winning the toss skipper Matt Tait elected to bowl first. It took just 3 overs for Sam Lynch to make the breakthrough sending the openers off stump tumbling. From the other end the ever reliable Simon 'Bugs' Davies kept the pressure on with a fantastic spell of bowling with just 15 runs and 3 wickets coming from his 8 overs, a sharp stumping from James Devonald just one of these dismissals. A bowling change saw James Ingleton come into the attack and take a wicket in his first over and a wicket just before drinks from the next bowling change James Allen had Laugharne well on top with the home team 75-6. The next bowling change saw Joe Hodges enter the attack who in his final appearance for Laugharne before hanging up his spikes produced a great spell of bowling to finish with figures of 3/16 in his six overs. Laugharne had restricted the home team to just 117 all out. A terrific effort with the ball with all bowlers contributing at least one wicket, special mention to Bugs who went over 30 wickets for the season and the skipper for 3 great catches. With 5 bonus points in the bag the league was all but secured, the celebration was put on hold as the batsman had their job to do, a good 61 opening partnership from Callum Collins Davies (19) and Brendan McCay (34) set the tone for the chase but with 3 wickets tumbling for 1 run enter the man of the season Matt Tait who along with Harry Clapperton steadied the ship and guided Laugharne to a six wicket victory with over 20 overs to spare. The match and title secured in a fitting way with Tait smashing a huge six. A fantastic season and achievement for the club, celebrations began with the friends and families and carried on well into the night.

Congratulations to all involved with the club! Special mentions for Skipper Matt Tait who has led the club brilliantly this season, setting the standards in the field and with the bat leading the run scoring charts of all the leagues (we will leave any all rounder comments for another time).

The retiring Brendan McCay and Joe Hodges, it has been a pleasure to share the field and sambuca with you for the last 3 years.

Division 3 Champions 2026 has a very nice ring to it 🏆🏆🏆

What a game to finish! 🏏🔥

The seconds welcomed Kilgetty to Wooford Park, with Laugharne winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Tyler Morgan put in a fantastic shift, batting for 21 overs and providing a solid foundation to support the top order. There were plenty of boundaries along the way from Pete, Barry, Steve and Dan.

Then came a brilliant 88* from the old head of the team, Steve Trivett. Another fantastic knock from Steve this season, helping Laugharne post a competitive 192 on the board.

The youngsters were eager to get out there and bowl — and they certainly showed it!

Jac Lynch was the second bowler to be brought into the attack, and what an introduction he had! His very first ball brought a wicket, finishing his opening over as a wicket maiden! 🎯

The wickets continued to fall, with Barry Meredith taking 1, Steve taking 2, Dan taking 1, and an impressive 3 wickets for Jac.

Going into the final over, Kilgetty needed just 5 runs to win. Jacob Brown put in a fantastic fight with the ball and kept the pressure on right until the very end.

And then… the final ball!

With the field closing in, Kilgetty managed to sneak the single one they needed!
