On 13th June, Ballylinney PC will be hosting the first Ballylinney Games - a morning of fitness challenges, team events, friendly competition and plenty of encouragement. With ergs, strength tests and team challenges, it's designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all abilities, while still keeping the healthy competition that any good fitness event should have.
There is something satisfying about setting yourself a challenge, putting in the work and seeing progress. That's part of what makes fitness events so enjoyable to take part in and watch.
The Ballylinney Games aren't just about fitness though. They're being organised by Ballylinney Presbyterian Church, and all proceeds will go towards supporting a mission trip to Moldova this summer, helping a local church as it serves children, families and the wider community.
At the heart of that work is the message of the Gospel. Much of life is about what we achieve or earn. The Christian message is different. The Gospel is about what Jesus Christ has already accomplished for sinners through His life, death and resurrection.
If you're free on 13th June, why not come along to the Ballylinney Games? Whether you're competing, supporting a friend, cheering others on, or simply curious to see what it's all about, everyone is welcome.
*"While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."* Romans 5:8
