One thing I’m probably guilty of is talking more about my own achievements as an athlete than I do about my achievements as a coach.

The truth is, while I’ve loved competing and everything I’ve achieved in strength sports, nothing compares to seeing the athletes I coach succeed.

Over the last 16 years I’ve had the privilege of working with athletes both online and in person across Powerlifting and Strongman. Together we’ve produced National Champions, British Champions, Irish & UK Champions, Commonwealth athletes and multiple record holders.

But it’s not just about titles.

Watching someone hit their first bodyweight squat, qualify for their first competition, pull a lifetime PB, or simply achieve something they never thought possible is what gets me excited about coaching.

Helping people become stronger, more confident and reach their potential is without doubt my biggest passion.

Every month, I watch my girls build more strength, more confidence, and more belief in themselves. The coaching is intentional, designed specifically for women so they can continue progressing and achieving results.

Strength without speed is only half the job.

Too many people train heavy and slow all year round but never train to move explosively.

Your body has:
• Slow twitch fibres — endurance & sustained force
• Fast twitch fibres — speed, power & explosiveness

If you only train one, why are you leaving half your ability on the table?

Explosive work improves:
✅ Power output
✅ Athleticism
✅ Force production
✅ Speed off the floor
✅ Overall performance in your main lifts

Heavy lifts build the engine.
Explosive work teaches you how to use it.

Train both. Become stronger AND more dangerous.

Deadlift bracing tip 👇

There are 2 ways to brace:
• Brace at the top, then get into position
• Get into position first, then brace

What works best depends on your body type.

👉 Slender lifters can usually brace at the top and pull straight away.
👉 Lifters with a bigger midsection often get a better setup by getting into position first, then bracing.

Big mistake people make:
❌ Quick breath in → immediate pull

Instead:
✅ Take your breath
✅ Hold it for 1–2 seconds
✅ Build pressure
✅ Then pull

And don’t just push the air into your stomach — push the pressure into your lower back against the belt for better support and stability.

It’ll feel strange at first, maybe even lightheaded, but once you get used to it the difference is massive. 💪

My girls are getting strong AF !! Trusting the process they now finally at the stage the programme starts to show it all coming together.
Weights from last comp are now being repped and we are well off peak phase !!
