No Easy Nights on the Road 🔴⚪️

Larne ‘MW’ make the short trip this evening to take on Salisbury ‘MW’ in NIPGBL Midweek Division 1.

The guys go into it full of confidence after seeing off unbeaten Ewarts last week, and will be keen to carry that form into Salisbury, who sit near the bottom of the table - but away games are never straightforward, so the guys shouldn’t take anything for granted tonight. ⚠️

Update from a sunny day in Ayr! ☀️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for our lads at the 2026 British Isles Championships, with both of today’s U25 semi-finals going the way of the hosts.

🏆 U25 Singles
Jayden Kyle faced Scotland’s Jack Davidson in this afternoon’s semi-final. After an unusually slow start, Jayden produced a determined fightback, but the Scot eventually came through 21-16.

🏆 U25 Pairs
Stephen Harvey (Ards BC) and our own Iain Gingles took on Scotland’s Kieran Dodds & Danny Stevenson. It was a scratchy game at times, with moments of brilliance mixed with the odd slack end, but despite that the lads only narrowly missed out on a place in tomorrow’s final, with the Scots edging it 17-14.

While there’ll be no finals appearance this time around, there’s no doubt that these guys will be back competing on this stage again in the years ahead. Representing Ireland at the British Isles Championships is an achievement to be proud of! 👏

🎾 Fun bowls and tennis from 2pm, registration from 1:30pm.
🍔 BBQ thrown in.

🎟️ Ballot and prize draw running all afternoon.
⚽ World Cup semi-final on the big screen from 8pm, so make a day of it.

Good luck to our lads in Ayr! 🍀

Everyone at Larne Bowling & Lawn Tennis Club would like to wish our club members Jayden Kyle and Iain Gingles the very best of luck as they head to Ayr, Scotland for the 2026 British Isles Bowls Championships. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Jayden will compete in the U25 Singles, while Iain, alongside Stephen Harvey (Ards BC), will contest the U25 Pairs.

After winning their respective Irish titles last season, they have earned the honour of representing Ireland on the British Isles stage – a fantastic achievement. 🏆

The lads travel today for a practice session, with both semi-finals taking place tomorrow at 4:30pm. A win would see them progress to Wednesday’s finals. ⛴️

Best of luck to Jayden, Iain and Stephen – the entire club will be cheering you on! 🍀

🎾 𝗝𝘂𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 🎾
The U14 Boys competed in the Juvenile league this spring/summer, the team consisted of Tom, Louis, Hugo and Luke, with 3 of the 4 building on their experience from last year, hopes were high.

The boys started strongly away to Portadown winning 3 of 4 singles going into the break. In the doubles, both teams played well securing a 5-1 win to get off to a great start.
Thanks to Portadown for the matches and hospitality, great refreshments! 🍩 🍬 🥤

Next up, the boys hosted Ballymena, with Ballymena only able to send 3 players the boys started strongly coming away with a 6-0 win, just finishing up before the courts start showing signs of the wet evening ☔️

Filled with confidence the boys were on the Road away at Boat club to take on the first of 2 Boat club teams in the division. Hugo led the way racing through his singles, with Tom Louis and Luke taking a little time to adjust to the surface! They turned 2 of the 3 around to go into the doubles with a 3-1 lead. Tom & Louis secured the win with a strong display, whilst Hugo & Luke were edged out in a close champions tie break. 4-2 win. Again fantastic hospitality and snacks 😋

The boys finished up home to the second Boat club team knowing a win would secure the division. Again a strong start left them 3-1 up going into the doubles. The boys wrapped up in style winning both doubles to secure a 5-1 win. 4 wins from 4 and some great matches along the way, well done boys 👏

The season finished with a fun day and presentation at Boat club today, super weather ☀️ and great fun. Thanks to Boat club for hosting today and B&D for the organisation that goes into running the leagues.

It’s an earlier kick-off today as Larne ‘A’ look to keep their hot streak going against Pickie. 🔥

Larne ‘A’ play host to Pickie ‘A’ in NIPGBL Division 1. Following last week’s maximum points haul, the lads have put themselves in a much stronger position near the top of the table. With first and second facing each other today, there’s a great opportunity to make up ground with another big result. 🙌

With Larne ‘B’ enjoying a free weekend, it would be great to see a strong support for the lads this afternoon. 🗣️
