💙💛 BANTRY BOUND! 💛💙

This weekend we are incredibly proud to have 16 Olderfleet crews travelling to Bantry to compete at the Swift Irish Coastal Junior Championships 2026!

The Junior Championships are always a real highlight in our club calendar. Our juniors have trained and worked hard throughout the season, and now it’s time for those racing to get out there, give it their all and enjoy representing Olderfleet on the national stage.

Junior rowing is such an important part of what we do at ORC. These young rowers are the future of our club and of our sport, and seeing 16 crews heading to Bantry makes us immensely proud. 💙💛

While not all of our juniors will be racing this weekend, so many have been part of the training, learning and miles that have gone in throughout the season. Every one of them is part of our growing junior squad and part of what we are building at Olderfleet. 💪

We’re looking forward to a weekend of great racing, friendships and camaraderie both on and off the water, and we wish every crew from every club travelling to Bantry the very best of luck. Race hard, enjoy the experience and make plenty of memories along the way. 🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️

A huge thank you too to Bantry Rowing Club , Swift Racing Boats Ireland and everyone involved in making the event possible. We know the enormous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to bring an event like this together, and we’re looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic celebration of junior coastal rowing.

Super teamwork tonight, plenty of craic and a great buzz around the club as our juniors got their final session in and everyone got stuck into loading the boats.

The work is done, the boats are loaded… Bantry bound and ready for a brilliant weekend!

Our eleven-year-olds learning their race starts as they prepare for their very first Swift Irish Junior Championships next weekend. 🚣‍♀️💙💛

Only around six weeks into their rowing journey, these girls will be stepping up to race in the J14 category — a brilliant experience for them so early on.

We’re incredibly proud of them, as we are of all our juniors, for getting stuck in, learning, improving and being brave enough to give racing a go.

First championships… Bantry bound! 💪

A few from training this week… 📸

It’s been a busy one — too busy for much camera action, and with a few of our usual snappers off enjoying the sunshine! ☀️😂

A change in the weather, back to school and autumn definitely creeping in 🍂, but we’re still making the most of the evenings while we can.

Our juniors have been keeping busy too, with preparations continuing for their Championships in Bantry next weekend 💪🚣

Still plenty happening at ORC before those autumn nights decide differently! 💙💛

🎉 WE DID IT!! 🎉

We are absolutely delighted to say that we have reached our Crowdfunder target! 💙💛

A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who donated, shared our campaign, supported us, encouraged us and helped us get here. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without you. Huge thankyou also to Sport NI for creating opportunities that supports clubs like ourselves, helping us build together for the future.

Every donation, big or small, has helped us take another step forward in what we are trying to build at Olderfleet.

This funding will allow us to add another coastal single to our fleet, giving even more of our members the opportunity to get out on the water, develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy everything coastal rowing has to offer.

For us, this was never simply about buying another boat. It’s about breaking down barriers, creating opportunities and making our sport accessible to more people.

From very small beginnings, our club continues to grow — and every new piece of equipment helps us say “yes” to more people who want to give rowing a go. 💙💛

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who believed in our project and helped make it happen.

Now we can’t wait to welcome our new single to Olderfleet later this month and see where the next chapter takes us!
