Another well done to our primary school athletes who took part in the South Lanarkshire Primary Schools athletics finals in Carluke yesterday. Our athletes performed excellently with some medals in tow!

Freya Hamilton got Gold 🥇in the P6 girls long jump and gold 🥇 for her school 100m relay team P6 girls.

Olivia Davidson got bronze 🥉 in the long jump.

Aaron Walker (not pictured) got 🥈 as part of his school 100m relay team for p7 boys.

Well done to all our athletes who reached the finals! Another great day.

Another successful day for our young athletes at the South Lanarkshire Secondary schools athletics championship final held today at the John Wright sports centre in East Kilbride.

A group of our athletes took on a variety of events with some medal winning performances!
Katie McCready 🥉bronze for u16 girls in long jump.
Michael Marden 🥈 silver for the under 14 boys long jump
Erin Ogston 🥈 silver, for 100m U16 girls
Sam Thompson 🥈 silver for 200m u16 boys
Laci McNulty, 🥇 gold for 200m U16 girls
Lucy Thomson 🥈silver for 200m u16 girls
Ross Kinkade 🥇gold 200m u16 boys
Erin, Laci, Lucy, and Lily Cuthbertson 🥇gold, 4 x 100m relay

🏆 We are delighted to announce that Larkhall YMCA Harriers won Team of the Year at the recent Club Sport Hamilton Awards!
The award was collected on behalf of the club by our coach, Willie Mowbray.

We were also proud to have nominations for Alastair Dooey, Laci McNulty, and Ross Kinkade, recognising their outstanding achievements and contributions throughout the year.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved – this award reflects the hard work, dedication, and success of our athletes, coaches, volunteers, and supporters. Well done, Team Larkhall YMCA Harriers! 👏🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Well done to our Couch to 5K group who recently completed their 12 week program and celebrated at the Strathclyde parkrun where they all ran their 5K! The team worked hard under the supervision of our experienced coaches and now many of them have joined the club and are looking forward to the next challenge of a 10K or Half Marathon!

Happy mother's day to all of our loyal mums who turn up to support the kids every single day, rain or shine!

Today , on Mothers day 2026, our mum's were here to support whilst the kids took part in their final road race of the winter season with an adjusted race due to the rather unpleasant weather conditions!

👟 Running track update!

In the Larkhall Plan Partnership 2019 Community Survey, there was strong opinion on the need to upgrade the running track located behind the high school.

Since then, various options have been investigated and many discussions have taken place with a range of stakeholders to assess the viability of the project.

We worked with consultants to create an upgrade plan, including floodlighting, which have since been shared with South Lanarkshire Council and potential funders.

The creation of a Leisure Campus based on the new build centre starting this year, allowed us to bring the running track project back into the picture.

Following a meeting with SLC this week including LPP partner Larkhall YMCA Harriers - Running & Athletics Club, funding for a Feasibility Study that will provide a new plan, and potential costs, has been agreed and will provide the necessary details to help us take the project forward.

A lot of work has gone into what is, in the overall sphere of things, a small win, but we are excited because it puts the track firmly in the frame and, importantly, has the attention of South Lanarkshire Council.
