Largs Karate Club

Largs Karate Club Largs Karate Club was founded in 1981 and train in the Shotokan style of Karate.

It was originally part of the Budokan Karate Association and in 1986 became the first club in the west of Scotland to join the Karate Union of Great Britain.

The KUGB's FREE annual Scottish course takes place in Kirkintilloch on Saturday 12th September, with Sensei John Bruce (6th Dan).

This is an excellent opportunity to train with one of the best instructors in the KUGB and is open to Yellow Belts and above. Don't miss out on what will be a fantastic FREE course.

The next competition open to club members is the 12th Kanzen Cup in Dundee on 5th September. There are categories available for all ages and grades and we're hoping to send a strong team up to compete.

A fantastic day for Largs Karate Club to round off the week at the KUGB Summer School in Lancaster.

Massive congratulations to Luke, Murray and Sam who became the club’s newest black belts. Also to Liam who had his Shodan accredited by the KUGB. And last but not least to Kerry who passed Nidan (2nd Dan). Huge achievements all round, doing themselves and our club proud!

This year, Largs Karate Club has a huge group of 14 members in Lancaster to enjoy instruction from the KUGB’s Senior Instructors at the Annual Summer School. Reports of fantastic sessions over the first two days, being thoroughly enjoyed by all, with a great spirit of camaraderie. Those of us left back at the dojo here in Largs aren’t jealous at all 🤣
