That’s the gap The Marathon Project fills.

Once a month, we get on a live call. As a group. You can ask me anything. Pacing, fuelling, a ni**le that’s popped up, how to fit a long run in around a family weekend. Whatever’s on your mind that week.

You’ll hear other runners ask questions too. Half the time, someone asks exactly what you were wondering but hadn’t said out loud.

This is for runners who’ve had a plan before but trained alone with it. No one to check in with. No one to tell you if what you’re feeling is normal or not.

You’re not figuring this out on your own anymore.

Comment “PROJECT” and I’ll send you the details.

Most training plans look the same on week one as they do on race day. The Marathon Project doesn’t.

After your Base Phase, we stop and review. Then I build your next phase around where you’re actually at, not where a generic plan assumes you should be.

Message me “PROJECT” and I’ll send you the details.

You had it planned. Tuesday, straight after work. Then a meeting overran, or your kid needed picking up, or you were just too wiped out to move.

And now there’s this little voice going, “you’ve let yourself down again.”

I hear this from so many runners. Parents especially. Full-time job, family, house to run, and somewhere in there you’re meant to fit training too.

It’s when it becomes one or two every week that it starts to matter.

You’re not failing because life got in the way once. You’re living an actual life.

Training that only works when everything goes perfectly isn’t really working at all. The best plans bend when life happens. They don’t fall apart.

That’s the bit nobody tells you when you download a generic plan off the internet.

And it’s exactly what I help my runners do. Stay consistent when life happens. Not when everything’s perfect.

Sound familiar?

You don’t just have to figure it out yourself.

That’s one of the things you’ll get with The Marathon Project.

Every month, we’ll have a live group coaching call where you can come along, ask questions and get advice from me directly.

Not sure why a session is in your plan?
Wondering how hard a run should feel?
Not sure how to approach your next long run?
Want advice on fuelling, pacing or recovery?

Ask.

And because you’re doing it as part of a group, you’ll also hear the questions other runners are asking.

You’ll learn from each other.

And you’ll probably realise you’re not the only one wondering the same thing.

It’s 6 months of marathon training, but with support along the way.

You’re not just handed a plan and left to get on with it.

You’ve got a coach in your corner, a group around you, and somewhere to go when you’re not sure what to do next.

If you’re training for London, Manchester or another spring marathon and want to know more about The Marathon Project, message me “PROJECT” and I’ll send you the details.

Have you ever signed up for a marathon and thought…

“What next?”🤔

You’ve got the place.
You’ve got the excitement.
You’ve told everyone you’re doing it.

Then the questions start…

🏃‍♂️ How much should I be running?
🏃‍♂️ When should I start my long runs?
🏃‍♂️ Do I need to run 20 miles?
🏃‍♂️ What sessions should I be doing?
🏃‍♂️ How am I going to fit all this around work and family?

And suddenly that excitement turns into…

“Have I bitten off more than I can chew?”

It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed.

A marathon is a big goal, and you don’t need to have everything figured out from day one.

You just need to know what to do next.

That’s one of the reasons I created
The Marathon Project.

It’s designed to take away the guesswork and give you a clear path from where you are now to the marathon start line.

No wondering what you should be doing.
No trying to piece your training together yourself.
Just a clear plan, guidance and support to help you get to that start line feeling ready.

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

Marathon pace feeling harder than you expected?

Don’t let one tough session knock your confidence.

Remember, you’re trying to hit that pace in the middle of a training block, with weeks of training already in your legs.

Race day is different.

You’ll be tapered, recovered and ready to go. 🙌

One tough marathon pace session doesn’t mean you’re not capable of holding it on race day.

Keep showing up. Trust the training. 🏃‍♂️

Save this one for the next time marathon pace has you questioning everything. 👍

Marathons aren’t built in 16 weeks.

They’re built over months (sometimes years) of consistent training.

Lizzy didn’t come to me ready for a marathon. We started with the basics, built up to her first 10K, and then progressed step by step towards Manchester Marathon.

Along the way, we managed previous Achilles issues, adapted the plan when life got in the way, and focused on consistency over perfection.

That’s what good coaching is all about.

Meeting you where you are now, creating a plan that works for you, and helping you become the runner you want to be.

Whether your goal is your first 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon, don’t worry about where everyone else is. Just focus on taking the next step.

What race are you working towards at the moment? Let me know in the comments. 👇
