4 Common Misconceptions About Healing...

If you’re striving to optimise your performance and unlock your full potential in your work, emotional healing must take centre stage in your priorities.

Without a regular practice to release stress, self-doubt, and frustration, we risk repeating the same low-frequency patterns, no matter how much effort we put in.

Why? Because the energy behind our actions shapes the results, more than the actions themselves.

But many people misunderstand what true healing involves., here are 4 common misconceptions:

Healing is NOT:

❌ Lying on the sofa watching Netflix
❌ Going for a walk in nature
❌ Being mindful while working
❌ Repeating mantras in the mirror

These activities may bring temporary relief or a sense of grounding, but they don’t facilitate true healing.

Even practices like meditation may bring limited results unless we focus our awareness on the felt sensations of the body.

True healing occurs when we:

✔️ Bring both mind and body to rest
✔️ Fully feel into our repressed emotions
✔️ Experience support in a safe, trusted space

This is the path to inner harmony and a life of aligned purpose.

By integrating healing into our lives, we create the resilience to work through challenges as they arise and unleash our fullest potential.

As professionals, we often pour our hearts into our work, yet many of us still feel a nagging sense of disconnection.

🌟 5 Key Practices for Energetic Hygiene in Your Busy Life 🌟

In our fast-paced world, it's easy for our energy to get drained by the constant demands of work, relationships, and daily responsibilities.

But when we take care of our energetic well-being, we can reconnect with purpose, balance, and joy.

Here are 5 powerful practices to keep your energy clear, centred, and thriving:

1. Gratitude Practice 🙏
Gratitude is a simple yet transformative practice. By focusing on what you appreciate, you naturally shift your energy to a higher vibration. Each day, take a moment to reflect on three things you're grateful for. This small habit can lift your mood, refocus your mindset, and invite more positive energy into your life.

2. Aligned Action ⏩
When working, there is a pressure to get things done as quickly as possible. But when we create from the energy of overwhelm, we manifest low vibration results. Instead, when feeling stressed, relax your shoulders and jaw and bring your awareness into your body. After 5 minutes you will be back into alignment.

3. Connect with Nature 🌿
Nature is a powerful source of grounding and healing energy. Whether it’s a short walk in the park, sitting by the ocean, or simply enjoying fresh air, connecting with nature helps to reset and recharge your energy. Even brief moments outside can help clear mental fog, restore balance, and remind you of the beauty in the present moment.

4. Journaling for Reflection 📝
Journaling is a great way to release stagnant thoughts and emotions, clearing the way for new insights and clarity. Make time each week to jot down your thoughts, feelings, and reflections. The most common regret of the dying...

At some point on the awakening journey, a question comes up that is fundamental to our evolution - what’s my purpose?

It’s a question that came up for me first in 2019.

I had been on my healing journey for 7 years and was at last seeing some light at the end of the tunnel thanks to the practices that I teach today.

At that point it was clear to me that I wanted to serve others in some way, rather than largely going through the motions in my career in advertising.

The most common regret people have at the end of their lives is ‘I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.’

When I heard that for the first time, I knew that I was heading in the same direction and was determined not end my life in the same way.

What I’ve learned since is that it all comes down to aligning with our true self.

Decades of trauma and conditioning from the society we live in, means that the vast majority of us live in our heads.

From this thought based consciousness, we make decisions based on survival rather than what we are truly passionate about.

Our thinking mind would much rather we spent our whole life working in a job that gives us no fulfilment, rather than take a perceived risk to our survival by following our heart.

And so the first step in defining our soul mission, is to slowly bring awareness back into the felt sense of the body.

Physically the journey from brain to heart is only about 50cm, but emotionally this journey can take months or even years depending on how many defences we have in place.

But once we begin to clear away the layers and reconnect once again, our path forward becomes clear.

What that mission is, only you will know, but what I learnt on my own journey is that support and community are key.

Through life’s many challenges, we get pulled back again and again into the conditioned mind and so it is vital that we have reminders to help us find our way home again.

Now that autumn is underway in the northern hemisphere, our energy naturally begins to turn inward 🍁

This is a time of release, of letting go of activities and beliefs that no longer serve us.

If we continue to push outwardly at this time, we can lose our balance and fall out of alignment.

But if we take this invitation to heal, we can ensure that we have ample resource available to create from when springtime returns.

Healing is lifetime process, there is no end to the layers of trauma that we uncover, especially when we are committed to our personal growth and transformation.

Over 10 years on my own healing journey, I tried countless different practices and was finally able to crystallise the process into 3 key aspects.

1: Surrender: Healing only takes place when we bring mind and body to rest. Continually being busy or thinking about our challenges keeps energy trapped in our system meaning that our body is unable to metabolise.

2: Support: We can do great work alone in terms of raising awareness, but in order to heal we need each other. Our system will only truly let go and connect to source when we are held energetically by another.

3: Dedication: Energetic misalignments build up daily, so we need an efficient practice that can fit into our busy modern lives. Without consistent energetic hygiene, our traumas quickly resurface and send us back into unconscious patterns.

Having realised this on my own path, I made it my mission to share the practices that helped me establish the internal wellbeing that I had been seeking for over a decade.

Last weekend I was in the Brecon Beacons, and despite this photo, at times I really regretted being there...

I took this photo on Sunday when the weather had improved on a beautiful walk through waterfall country.

But the day before I was high up on a mountain in the middle of a storm and wondering if I would ever make it back to safety.

On the way up, the rain had fallen steadily and my trousers and boots were soaked through (note to self: invest in waterproof trousers for the next trip).

Having eventually made it to Llyn y fan Fawr lake, which was the half way point, I decided to climb up to the peak and walk back along the ridgeline.

Once I got to the top, I quickly realised that it wasn’t my greatest idea as the wind and mist increased meaning that I could barely walk or see 5 metres in front of me.

What followed was an hour of fighting my way through the storm, putting one foot in front of the other and praying that I eventually found a way back down.

It was only on reflection afterwards that I realised how dangerous it was, one misstep or change in the winds direction and I could easily have met an untimely end.

Eventually, I did find my way out, but support and guidance would have helped immensely if I’d had it available.

Just like the weather, there are numerous emotional storms that we encounter as we go through life.

A relationship break up, losing a job or business, a health diagnosis, a death in the family - there are infinite ways that we can be tested, but so many people I speak to are struggling on alone.

This not only prolongs the expereince, but also affects other aspects of our lives negatively as we continually manifest from the same energy of overwhelm.

Human beings don't work well in isolation, we evolved in small communities and relied on each other for our survival and wellbeing.

Since that expereince I have been sitting with my own tribe to process the energy that builds up everyday in our busy modern lives.

And true confidence comes from knowing that we can fully be with whatever situation life sends our way.

Over the last 3 years working with many different people on the path of awakening, there is one thing that I hear more than any other…

…I feel stuck and confused.

This journey is the most challenging expereince that we can undertake, and so often it is sparked by a trauma that forces us to begin looking within for answers.

On my own path, I quickly realised that the western solutions of medication and therapy were limited and I found no one who could explain what I was going through.

This led to years of me feeling very lost and scared as I searched for answers alone.

It doesn’t have to be this way, but so often when I speak to others they are experiencing the same.

The key I found was to work within community so that I had support and guidance through the various stages that I was going through.

Working alone keeps us largely trapped in our own trauma and conditioning, but opening up to others allows our system to feel safe enough for these energetic blockages to be processed.

And there is really nothing that we cannot move through if we are patient and dedicated to our practice.

It is for this reason that I felt called to create my new ’A Guide to Awakening’ program:

The Most Profound Benefit Of Energy Work 💫

It took me a couple of months to experience the difference between the type of energy work that I practice now and everything else I’d tried on my journey.

One morning, while I was working away at home as usual, I was suddenly filled with an overwhelming sense of connection and wellbeing.

It was so powerful that I had to stop what I was doing and ask my teacher for advice.

Even through plant medicine and meditation retreats, I’d never experienced such powerful feelings in everyday life.

These states are accessible in others ways, but the real difference was that these windows of wellbeing got wider and wider as I continued with the work.

It’s not that there are no more challenging emotions, contrast is a crucial part of our evolution.

But the feeling of being connected to something far greater has become more and more evident over the last couple of years.
This is a pattern that I see with the people I work with now.

It doesn’t happen straight away and for some it can take longer depending on the layers of trauma that we need to work through.
But it is inevitable if we commit to the work of holding space with others.

When we sit together in co-resonance, a field is created that is not possible when working alone.

Feelings of wellbeing and safety slowly start to build in our system and then flow into our everyday lives, positively impacting those around us and our ability to be with challenging emotions.

We are social beings that require regular connection and this is particularly true when it comes to our healing.

𝟑 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐍

Pain is something that we are all very used to, especially on the journey of awakening.

Often it is a trauma in life that forces us to begin shedding the ego to uncover our authentic self.

And there’s no avoiding it, in fact it is when we turn away from pain that suffering begins.

My own journey over the last 10 years meant that I had to learn this lesson very quickly.

From having a relatively stable and balance mind, I was thrown into chaos and depression one day back in 2012.

My subsequent path through Buddhism, shamanism, plant medicine and energy work, helped me first survive and then heal through this dark night of the soul.

To this day I still experience times of inner turmoil, but this following 3 step process allows me to centre myself again and not cling to the experience.

1: Name the emotion. Once we become aware that we are caught in the mind, labelling the underlying emotion brings us back into the role of observer and to the present moment.

2: Bring awareness to the sensation. Beyond the emotion is a sensation within our energetic system. This may feel like a pressure, tightening or collapse, usually in the torso area.

3: Stay with your feelings. By feeling into the changing sensations at this level and witnessing without judgment, we allow energy to be processed. This will then bring the mind back into balance when we return to it.

This is a method that I use regularly throughout the day whenever I notice my mind going in a negative direction.

It can help us to maintain a stable mind, but for lasting healing to take place, we require the support and presence of others to clear the underlying trauma.

THE 3 STAGES OF AWAKENING ✨

The path towards awakening starts at different points in our lives.
For many of us, a traumatic event asks us to go inward in order to evolve.

But this journey toward higher self can be sparked in an infinite number of ways.

Through my interactions with different people, I have noticed that there is a distinct process that we each seem to go through.

Initially there is a focus on the outside world and seeing it as being a barrier to our progress.

This can be described as a victim mentality, or that ‘life is happening to me’.

From this place it is very hard to make any real progress in our evolution as we haven’t yet taken responsibility for our state of being.

Moving beyond that stage there is an understanding that ‘life happens for me’.

Here there is an understanding that everything we experience is happening for the express purpose of helping us to awaken.

Even those challenging experiences that we wouldn’t necessarily have chosen, have been designed specifically by us to break down the ego and begin understanding who we truly are.

The next stage that we can move onto is the understanding that ‘life happens through me’.

Here the identification with life experiences falls away and we are one with the ever changing nature of the universe.

We allow energy to flow uninterrupted and without judgement, trusting in a higher intelligence to guide us.

It is from this place that we can then begin to radically transform our experience.

Once we remove the need to understand and fight with life, the healing that we seek can finally be realised.

At this time the potential for our life is limitless as we align with the creative force that forms the basis of our existence.

Through sitting with others in co-resonance, our connection to source energy grows stronger allowing us to move through experiences faster.

A field is created when we come together that enables us to access healing that is unobtainable when working alone.
