Langholm Gets Active

Langholm Gets Active LGA is a voluntary charity (SC044725) organisation set up to develop sporting opportunities for all ages in Langholm and the surrounding area.

LGA is a group with ambition and commitment. Our main goal is to introduce new sports and help develop existing sports for children and adults in our community. Since the club was founded, we have successfully established a Pre-School to P7 Tennis Club with the help of LTA Professional Tennis Coach Mike McMillin. Over 40 children are now playing tennis and we see the potential to develop this furt

her. It's worth pointing out, that as yet, we have no tennis court in the town and are using the community centre and our local sports hall. We are very proud of the children in our Muckle community that want to play Tennis, no matter what the venue! That said, we have created strong links with Tennis Scotland and Sports Scotland. We are working together with these organisations to try and build a tennis court for the community - watch this space!

Tennis Lessons Cancelled

After taking advice, it will come as no surprise that tennis lessons will no longer be able to take place until we know for sure the risk of Coronavirus is over.

Obviously, we’d hate to see all the skills our junior players have gained get rusty , so bear in mind that a racket and a foam ball can even be used indoors to practice . Or even balloons as per previous lessons. It’s not Wimbledon , but at least it allows you to keep practicing ready for lessons to return.

Due to Mike attending a training course next week , there will be no lessons on Thursday 12th March .

Lessons resume 19th March . An adjustment will be made for this against the cost of next block of lessons.

Nursery - P1 (3.30pm - 4pm) £22
P1 - P3 (4pm - 4.45pm) £27.50
P4 - PS3 (5pm - 5.45pm) £27.50

Please note : No lessons during half-term week (w/c 17th Feb)

Payment can be made in cash (in an envelope please with participants name) or by cheque payable to Langholm Gets Active . Payments can be left with coach Mike McMillin.

New players welcome . Players need not attend school in Langholm in order to participate.

Junior Table Tennis is back .

For pupils P5 to S1, on a Tuesday morning from 8.00am to 8.45am in Langholm Academy Sports Hall. Games , coaching, and all round good fun to start the day. Cost is £1 per pupil, see you there on Tuesday 17th September !
