U12 MATCH REPORT

Our girls travelled to Galashiels last night, to take on Gala Fairydean U12 Girls on the famous Netherdale 3G pitch.

With Gala having a large squad available, we agreed to play a round-robin format against two Gala teams, giving all the girls plenty of game time.
The squad put everything they have been working on in training into practice, with excellent one-two-touch passing, movement off the ball, communication, and clinical finishing on display throughout the games.

A special mention goes to our U12 captain, Lexi R, who scored her first goal for the club after three seasons playing with a fantastic finish. She was unlucky not to add a second after striking the post.

U8 and U10 MATCH REPORT

Our Under 8 and Under 10 teams both thoroughly enjoyed the Northbank Football Festival in Carlisle this weekend.

The U8s competed superbly against some more experienced teams and really found their form as the tournament progressed. Debut goals ⚽️⚽️ from Amber, Amelia and Violet capped a wonderful day for our youngsters and they should all be very proud of their achievements.

The U10s also battled through warm conditions against teams from around Carlisle more accustomed to regular competitive matches and different rules than Langholm are used to. Langholm adapted brilliantly and played lovely football throughout, with some outstanding performances from all of our girls.

A very rewarding weekend seeing the progress both teams are making - the future looks bright!

U12s MATCH REPORT

Our U12 girls travelled to The Sheepmount in Carlisle this afternoon to take part in the Northbank Festival.

Langholm played three games in a round robin format and, in warm conditions, the girls performed extremely well, showing great effort, teamwork, and determination throughout the afternoon.

A special mention to the girls who stepped up from the U10s to help out and play a game for the U12s after already playing this morning for the U10s. Their willingness to support the team was greatly appreciated and they did themselves proud.

U14s MATCH REPORT

This morning, our U14s travelled to Cambuslang to meet Drumsagard Blues.
On a hot day, Langholm started well against a strong physical opposition, and Langholm were able to create the most chances in the first half.

Drumsagard came back hard in the second half, levelling up and then taking the lead. But Langholm dug deep and were able to come from behind twice.

U8s and U10s MATCH REPORT

Today, Soccer Bees from Lochmaben Football Club hosted a lively Mini Festival in which we had 2 teams representing Langholm Girls.

Our Under 8s played brilliantly well, and came away with great credit having played some entertaining football throughout the morning. Great goalkeeping and staunch defence gave Langholm a solid platform and Amy and Hope both claimed their first goals for LGFC putting the icing on the cake for the team. Well done girls 👏

Our Under 10s then battled away in increasing temperatures 🌞 in the early afternoon and played some lovely football in four very fiercely contested matches. Again, some goalkeeping heroics and defensive awareness allowed the attacking players to score the goals the team deserved, and all the players contributed to a wonderful day. 💪

⚽️ LANGHOLM GIRLS 12s FESTIVAL ⚽️

Today our club hosted an Under 12s girls football festival on the 3G Pitch.

We welcomed teams from Soccerbees, Threave Rovers, two Heston Rovers teams, and Annan Athletic who all joined our own team from Langholm. 👍

Teams played five games in a round robin format. All the children enjoyed the games and judging by the smiles in these pictures, everyone had a great time.
