It was touch and go this morning with heavy rain and everyone keeping a very close eye on the forecast… but thanks to a little TLC from Dennis getting the grass courts ready, we were able to go ahead with a slightly delayed start! 🙌
There was some fantastic and very competitive tennis in the Ladies’ Doubles, with Michelle & Jane taking the win, and Barbara & Rachel runners-up. 👏
The Mixed Doubles followed, with James & Liz eventually taking the title, and Dennis & Kathryn runners-up. 🎾👏
A big thank you to Adam, who kept everyone rallied and on track to get the matches played on time, and presented the trophies at the end. 🏆👏
And, as always, it was lovely to see such great support from club members...along with plenty of delicious tea to keep everyone going! ☕🍰
A big well done to all our finalists, and thank you to everyone who came along to support. ❤️
Next weekend it’s the Men’s Singles and Men’s Doubles, fingers crossed for some sunshine! ☀️🎾

While the world's best were battling it out on Centre Court for the Wimbledon Ladies' Final, there was plenty of tennis magic happening a little closer to home on the grass courts at Lanchester!
Our annual Strawberry Tea was a wonderful afternoon of friendly tennis, and great company, with delicious strawberries, cream scones and, of course, a refreshing glass of Pimm's to round off the day.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such an enjoyable club event. Here's to another fantastic summer of tennis at Lanchester Lawn Tennis Club! 🎾🍓🥂

What a start to the season at Lanchester Lawn Tennis Club! ☀️
The sun has been shining, the grass courts are looking absolutely stunning, and we couldn’t have asked for a better opening to the season 🌿
Last night saw us kick off our first match in the Durham & Northumberland League with a Men’s Open Doubles fixture against Blaydon Tennis Club. Three teams, four sets… and a fantastic result for Lanchester, winning 7–5 🙌
Some truly spectacular tennis was played on a beautiful evening, a brilliant effort from everyone involved 👏
A huge thank you to all the players who took part, especially team captain Adam for leading the way. And a special mention to Dennis, not only for playing but for preparing our incredible grass courts...they really are something special 💚
