We are excited to host you

In just 10 days time we welcome our guests from Aalborg, Almere and Rendsburg for the International Youth Games in Lancaster.

What are you looking forward to?

We are already planning on inviting all our twin cities to the Games in 2027 (which would be the first time since 2013!).

Mini War of the Roses report:

On Sunday 21st May, two teams from Lancaster and York universities took part in the first ever staff teams eights competition on the River Lune during the annual City of Lancaster Regatta.

A small & distanced group were finally able to express the gratitude felt by the whole club to former club captain Karen Tidswell. Current chairman David Dunk presented Karen with flowers, gin and a beautifully engraved vase this morning.

Thank you for three years at the helm, including bringing in new members with numerous learn to row sessions, junior outings, regattas and head races to name but a few of the many tasks you performed and continue to provide for the club, always with a smile.

We are not sure what pressie Jim got!

Dear all, There will be a coaching session commencing this week at 6pm Thursday 20th and continuing for as long as we have daylight!, Please "book" a place and boat in the same way we currently do for other sessions, No's of between 4 and 6 rowers should be manageable, The sessions will be lead by Caiden Whittaker and Will Burrrows, who both row at uni, represent JOG in competitions and have a wealth of coaching experience, the coaches will make the call on weather conditions, Thanks, Alex.

Important notice to all members;
Prior to the committee meeting today Mike Pugh let us know that for personal reasons he has decided to resign as chairman of the rowing club with immediate effect.
I’m sure all members will join the committee in thanking Mike for all his hard work in his time at the club, including 5 years as chairman through some difficult and testing times and sending him our best wishes for the future including his continued participating in rowing,
