Lancaster Kendo Club

Lancaster University Kendo Society (LUKS), also known as Red Rose Kendo Club is a non-BKA (British Kendo Association) associated club, founded in 2013. We maintain a close relation with Manchester Kendo Club, and have since grown to become a successful university dojo, even placing in our first taikai at the University Taikai 2015. Non students are accepted but are required to register with the Un

iversity for a non student purple card to become a part of our society. Training Times:
Tuesday 20:00-22:00
Friday 20:00-22:00
Sunday 10:00 - 14:00 (Bogu (armour) only session)

Hello all!

As some of you might be aware, the Lancaster University Kendo Club has been out of action since the beginning of this year. I am currently in the process of setting it back up again and hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later.

If you are a current STUDENT at the University, please can you like or react to this post so I can see how many people there are currently interested and looking to practice Kendo.

I'll post more updates as I find out more information but hopefully it will all be set up much sooner rather than later.

Thank you!

Due to the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus in the UK, we are sad to announce that we have decided to suspend the Kendo activity for the Michaelmas term. During this time of inactivity, we'll be putting our best efforts to bring back training sessions for the Lent term. We are sorry to all people looking forward to training Kendo in Lancaster.

For those that are keen on practising Kendo in the next 3 months, we recommend the Preston Ken Shin Kai Dojo, where the sessions are led by Kendo Renshi 6th Dan Andy Fisher sensei. You can find a link to the Preston Dojo page in the comment below.

Thank you everyone and we hope to see you again in the Lent term.
Stay safe
