If you know anyone who is visually impaired who might be interested in giving Tennis a go, can you pass on this information please. Galloways are running a series of friendly and inclusive Tennis sessions this May and June as part of a funded project with Barclays Sported, helping more blind and partially sighted people enjoy Tennis in a fun and supportive environment.

Visually Impaired Tennis is adapted to make the game accessible for people with sight loss. Depending on your level of vision, the ball can bounce extra times before returning it, and specially adapted audible balls are used so players can hear where the ball is travelling. It’s a fantastic way to improve fitness, build confidence and try something new.

These sessions are accessible to people of all ages and abilities, whether you’re completely new to Tennis or have played before. Everyone is welcome to come along and give it a try.

On Friday 15th May and Friday 22nd May, 10am – 12noon at Lancaster University Sports Centre. Meet James in reception before heading to the courts.

Thanks very much to all the members who helped at our very successful Open Day, making everyone who attended so welcome. And especially thanks to Michael Cartmell Tennis Academy, Harry Di**le and Peter Nickson who gave the youngsters who attended a really fun afternoon on court.

Thanks SO much to our Club coach Michael Cartmell and his on court assistants Harry and Peter Nickson for making our annual Open Day such a success today. The youngsters clearly enjoyed their fun trying tennis.

And of course many thanks also to the Pickleball organising team of Diane Riach and Sharon Phillips plus the many Club members who helped to meet and greet and be so welcoming. What a friendly Club we are!

It's here - the Lancaster Tennis Club Open Day from 10am to 12 noon today Sunday 19th. And the sun is shining, so do come along and enjoy trying tennis and pickleball in our friendly Club.

We provide racquets and balls. Juniors and families are especially welcome.

A reminder that there will be another men's team practice night on Tuesday April 14th at 6.30pm. So any men interested in playing for the Kendal Men’s teams, the Fylde team or the mixed doubles team or just want a knock, come down on Tuesday from 6.30 pm.

One court will be set aside for Kendal Men's 1 players to practice.

If you are unable to attend but would still to be considered for one of the teams, just make contact via the Tennis Club WhatsApp group - Malcolm Dow.
