The Club's free coaching sessions, to be delivered by the Cartmell Tennis Academy, have been launched.

CVS Volunteer Certificates were also presented today to Sharon Phillips and Diane Riach to reward them for all their hard work in setting up and developing Pickleball in our Club and at indoor venues around Lancaster including Salt Ayre Leisure Centre and LRGS.

It was perfect tennis weather for our fun summer round robin on Sunday August 2nd - so a good decision to postpone from the weekend before. After some really enjoyable games, the winners of the final were Rod Kay and Fang Liu who beat Sandra Eccles and Jonny Eastham 6-3. Very well done to them.

It’s great news for anyone thinking about playing tennis – children and adults. Our Club has been very lucky to receive generous donations from local company Sofidel Ltd – through Club member Erdem Saatcioglu - and Tennis Lancashire so is able to offer coaching sessions either free of charge or heavily subsidised.

Because of uncertain weather, the summer round robin tournament scheduled for July 26th was cancelled. Such a shame.

But the weather forecast is better for Sunday August 2nd, so it is postponed till then - prompt start at 10m - in the same format as the popular Good Friday tournament. No entry fee but there will still be prizes and snacks.

Do come along to the tournament and have a great day of social tennis. We hope that lots of members will join in. So there will be no regular social tennis that day. Queries to Susan on [email protected] or tel: 07771 734920.

The fun summer round robin is still planned for Sunday 26th from 10am - free entry, prizes and snacks. Ideally we need at least 12 players to make it a good event.

BUT unfortunately some rain is forecast, so please check on the Lancaster Tennis WhatsApp group early on Sunday morning to see if it's going ahead. Fingers crossed.
