We’re looking to add three players to our squad for the 2026/27 season as we strengthen the group for the campaign ahead.

🧤 1 Goalkeeper
⚽ 2 Outfield Players – all positions considered

We compete in the top local division, and with the league becoming even stronger this season, we’re looking for players who want to come in, compete, develop and become an important part of the team.

We’re particularly interested in players who may already play Saturday football but are looking for a competitive Sunday team, or anyone who fancies a new challenge.

💛🖤 FULL TIME | MARSH UNITED 1–5 KENDAL UNITED 🖤💛

A tough start to the season for us today and one we’ll have to learn from quickly.

We took the lead midway through the first half and for spells looked comfortable, but Kendal found their equaliser just before half-time and that shifted the momentum of the game going into the break.

Unfortunately, in the second half we were second best to too many balls and too many challenges. We gave away four sloppy goals, struggled to find our usual football and rhythm, and Kendal punished virtually every opportunity we gave them.

With only one substitute available, tired legs started to show and we simply didn’t have the answers today.

We know this is going to be a very competitive season, and today highlighted that we need to get a few more players through the door as soon as possible to give us the squad depth needed to compete week in, week out.

But there’s no hiding from a result. We take it, learn from it, dust ourselves off and go again next week. There’s a long season ahead. 💪🐝

Congratulations to Kendal United. In the second half they were the better team, wanted it more and deserved their victory. We wish them all the best for the season ahead. 🤝

💛🖤 MATCH DAY | THE SEASON STARTS HERE! 🖤💛

After a long pre-season, plenty of hard work, new players joining the group and lots of preparation, tomorrow the 2026/27 league season finally gets underway. 🐝⚽

Our first test sees us welcome Kendal United U14s to Willow Lane.

We competed in the top division last season, but this year the league has grown with a number of new teams coming in, making it bigger, stronger and even more competitive.

That’s exactly what we want. More challenges, more competitive games and more opportunities for this group to develop and show what they can do.

Pre-season is finished now. Everything resets and the real work begins tomorrow.

Play with confidence, compete for each other, enjoy the football and whatever happens, do it together. 💛🖤

💛🖤 OUR CAPTAIN | LUCAS HODGSON 🖤💛

We’re proud to announce Lucas Hodgson as our Marsh United U14s Captain for the 2026/27 season. 🐝

Since day one, Lucas has given us 100%. His attitude has been first class, he constantly tries to lift the players around him and, most importantly, he has shown that he will always put the team before himself.

Throughout pre-season we’ve asked Lucas to take on different roles and play in multiple positions — he’s even stepped into goal when the team needed him — and every single time he’s just got on with it and given everything he has.

That’s exactly the mentality we want from our captain.

The armband isn’t about being the loudest player or the best player on the pitch. It’s about setting standards, leading by example, supporting your teammates and putting the badge and the team first.

Lucas has shown us those qualities consistently and has earned the responsibility of leading this group into the new season.

A big season ahead and a big opportunity for Lucas to continue developing as both a player and a leader.

🟡⚫ OUR VICE CAPTAIN | JAKE SANTANA ⚫🟡

We’re delighted to announce Jake Santana as our Vice Captain for the 2026/27 season. 🐝

Throughout pre-season, Jake has shown us exactly the type of attitude we want within this team.

He’s always team first. We’ve asked him to play in multiple positions and different roles and he’s done it without hesitation. He encourages his teammates, brings positive energy to the group and, most importantly, his attitude has remained consistent regardless of what we’ve asked him to do.

Over the last few months we’ve also seen his confidence really start to grow, both on and off the pitch, and his recent performances have shown what he’s capable of.

Being a leader isn’t just about wearing an armband. It’s about your attitude, your standards and what you’re prepared to do for the people around you.

Jake has earned this opportunity and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue developing and growing into the role.

A brilliant performance from Jake today, putting in his best display since joining Marsh a few months ago. 👏🐝

It’s been great watching Jake grow in confidence and become more comfortable within the team, and today we really saw that come through in his performance.

⚽ Some great goals, plenty of quality on the ball and a real confidence about his game from start to finish.

There’s still plenty more to come from him, and that’s the exciting part. Keep working hard, keep believing in yourself and keep progressing, Jake. 💪

More valuable minutes into the legs today for the players we had available as we continue building towards the new season.

A big thank you to Trimpell, who stepped in at short notice after our original fixture fell through. They dug deep throughout and had a few players helping them out today as well.

For us, it wasn’t about the result. The focus was on building fitness, getting more minutes into the lads and continuing to develop the connections and understanding within the team.

⭐ MAN OF THE MATCH – JAKE SANTANA ⭐

A special mention for Jake, who put in his best performance since joining the club a few months ago. It’s been great to see his confidence growing week by week, and today he showed exactly what he’s capable of with a really strong all-round performance and some great goals. 👏⚽

Keep working, Jake — plenty more to come! 💪🐝

🏆 Next up, we host our own tournament next Sunday, where we’ll face some quality teams and we know the level will be much tougher. Exactly the type of test we need as we continue preparing for the league season.

👏 Well done to Trimpell, thanks again for filling the fixture and we wish you all the best for the season ahead.

🟡⚫ REPLACEMENT GAME CONFIRMED ⚫🟡

With Gretna dropping out of our pre-season schedule, we’ve managed to arrange a replacement fixture and will now face Trimpell U14s.

We’ve got a lot of players away on holiday and no recognised goalkeeper available, so it’ll be a makeshift squad today, but another valuable opportunity to get extra minutes into the legs, continue building our fitness levels and keep working towards where we need to be for the start of the league season.

A frustrating night as we fall to a 2–0 defeat against Highgrove.

We weren’t at our best tonight. We struggled to get into our rhythm and, although we created more than enough opportunities, we just couldn’t convert them in the final third.

We had a number of good chances and several one-on-one situations, but we have to be more clinical. Highgrove showed us the difference tonight — when their opportunities came, they took them.

Their first goal was an excellent finish from the edge of the box and we went into half-time 1–0 down. In the second half we continued to create chances without finding the finish, before Highgrove punished us again to make it 2–0.

Plenty for us to work on. We know we can play much better than we did tonight, but that’s exactly what pre-season is for.

This season won’t always be easy. There will be difficult performances and setbacks, but it’s all part of the process. We stick together, learn from it and get back on the training pitch. 💪🐝

Well done to Highgrove and thanks for a competitive game. 🤝
