Hi Laura,
Thank you for getting in touch, and I am very sorry for the delay in replying. I have only recently discovered that Facebook Messenger had placed a number of messages in my spam folder, including yours.
I am really sorry to hear how badly pregabalin affected you, and that withdrawal was so horrific. It must have been incredibly difficult, particularly if you felt unsupported by the NHS at the time.
Although pregabalin is not a dopamine agonist, your experience does overlap with the wider concern behind the campaign: people need clear warnings about possible harms, proper monitoring, and safe, supported plans if they need to reduce or stop a medication. No one should be left to cope with severe withdrawal alone.
I am glad you have found something that you feel is helping now. Here is a useful treatment approach for RLS. https://losaltosneurology.com/2026/08/09/restless-legs-syndrome-causes-diagnosis-treatment/ It might help further.
I am also close to 10,000 signatures on my UK Parliament petition calling for a public inquiry into dopamine-agonist harms and failures in warnings, monitoring and safeguarding. While it is specifically about dopamine agonists, support from people affected by wider medication-safety failures helps show why patient safety must be taken more seriously. If you feel able, I would be grateful if you could sign and share it:

Best wishes,
David
