The Bulldogs conceded defeat this morning against Caledonia Unicorns. A hard fought game with great opportunities created by the team, but the Unicorns took the lead, converting their shots more consistently than the Bulldogs.

Bulldogs took the win against Kingston Panthers in their second game, their first win in Developmemt League this season (discounting the win by default in a previous round), creating great opportunities again and scoring more consistently, whilst also defending well to force tough shots from the opposition.

The last game saw a heavy defeat for the Bulldogs who were unfortunately outmatched on both speed and height by a strong Carlisle Panthers team, but the Bulldogs remained positive and kept working hard till the very end of the game.

The development and progress of all the Bulldogs players throughout the Development League rounds has be brilliant. Improvements in chair skills, defence, passing, shot selection, composure and resilience have been made by everyone, which is what it is all about.

A really positive end to the Development League season for the Bulldogs with their first win in the league, which is a great note to end on 💪😁

Looking forward to the continued development to come next season!

A tough day for the juniors today, with 2 losses. Unfortunately the Mohawks juniors were not able to make it today so just the 2 league games played this morning, and then a couple of friendly games this afternoon to get the extra practice.

The scores do not reflect the effort, grit and determination shown by the Bulldogs, there were some great opportunities created, great ball movement and all the shots taken were the rights shots, but unfortunately they were not falling in our favour.

There may be another round to go in June, reorganised from the round cancelled earlier in the season due to snow. So the team will keep training and working on their shots in preparation for that and all future games.

Regardless of the losses today, everyone had fun and continued in their development and learning, and that’s what it’s all about.

A win for the Bulldogs in their last game of the National League season, away to Rhyl.

An incredibly close game! Fairly even in the first quarter as both teams settled into the game with Bulldogs ahead by 3 points after the first quarter, and they picked up the pace a little in the second quarter to finish the half with a 6 point lead.
Bulldogs lost focus in the 3rd quarter as Rhyl put on the pressure and Bulldogs trailed by 2 points going into the fourth. The players dug deep in the last quarter with the score yo-yo-ing until the dying seconds of the game, but they managed to hold onto that 1 point lead to finish on a win.

What a season of ups and downs for the team, provisional 5th place overall, but overall a good season with some valuable lessons learnt and huge improvements from all the players!

Yesterday’s fun and games at the reopening of the courts at Happy Mount Park, what a great event, so much fun had by all.

Thanks to for the invitation to be part of this event and promote our sport, huge thanks to the volunteers from Bulldogs who helped organise and run everything, and thanks also to the players from basketball team for their help and for jumping in chairs to give it a go too.

The Bulldogs love to get involved in community events whenever possible - please do get in touch if you’d like us to run a session at your school, club, or event - we will always get involved when we can.
