🌹 MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CHAIRMAN, JOHN! 🌹

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our Chairman, John McCafferty, has been named a finalist for The Lioness Award at the Lancashire FA Red Rose Awards 2026!

This award celebrates those who champion the women and girls' game and ensure it thrives for years to come. John leads our club on the firm belief that there should be a place to play football for every girl who wants to.

Having already won the Lancaster & Morecambe Service to Youth League Lioness Award, his tireless efforts on the pitch, behind the scenes, and across our community continue to set the standard for grassroots football. And with huge plans in the pipeline for the future of the Giants, he’s only just getting started! ⚽🩷

Morecambe 0 - 6 Lancaster Giants

What a performance from our Lancaster Giants U16 girls last night. Worked hard from the first whistle and played some fantastic football.

Goals from Ella, Tadiswa, and a huge congratulations to Zara on her first ever goal for the club—surely the first of many! Plus a brilliant hat-trick for Faith. ⚽️🔥

Players' Player of the Match: Teo – playing her first-ever game of football but looked like she had been playing years! Outstanding in defence and played some lovely passes to start attacks. 🩷

Coaches' Player of the Match: Sienna – an absolute rock at the back, nothing got past her all night. Calm on the ball and a danger when she brought it forward. 💪

All 16 players were magnificent, but huge shoutouts to Daisy, Lily M, and Violet who were excellent.

Our Under 16s kick off their new season tonight as we make the short trip to face our good friends at Morecambe FC!

⚽ SUNDAY MATCHDAY ROUND-UP! ⚽

What a fantastic opening day of the season for our Lancaster Giants! So many brilliant performances, massive effort, and lots of smiles across all our age groups.

Here is a summary of today's action:

⚽ Under 9s
A tough fixture against a very strong team, but the girls kept working hard until the very end and showed fantastic determination!

Coach’s Player: Leah – fantastic performance in goal!

Parents’ Player: Lottie – an all-round fantastic performance with an incredible work rate throughout.

⚽ Under 10s
An outstanding team performance full of brilliant attacking football and great work all over the pitch!

Coach’s Player: Meme – an all-action display, fantastic going forward, and never stopped running!

Parents’ Player: Matilda – made some good saves in goal during the first half, followed by excellent passing when playing outfield in the second half.

⚽ Under 11s
The girls played fantastic football throughout the match and showed incredible teamwork and effort against a tough opponent.

Coach’s Player: Megan – brilliant defensive display packed with lots of hard work.

Parents’ Player: Emily – a hard-working display where she never gave up.

⚽ Under 12s
A hard-fought game where the girls kept battling away. Delilah grabbed a great goal for the team!

Player of the Match: Rose – pulled off some unbelievable saves!

⚽ Under 14s
A brilliant 5-2 win to kick off the season! Goals came from Lily (2), Ella (2), and Aalesha (1). So many players created great chances, and the team showed fantastic promise for the season ahead.

Player of the Match: Maisie – stepped into goal for the very first time, made some incredible saves, and grew in confidence throughout the game!

Well done to every single player who represented the club today—you’ve made us all proud!

⚽ IT'S MATCHDAY & THE START OF THE NEW SEASON! ⚽

The waiting is finally over—our 2026/27 season kicks off today! We have a massive day ahead across our age groups, with so many of our girls stepping out for their very first competitive game.

To every single girl putting on the shirt today, we want to wish you all the very best of luck! Go out there, play with a smile, give it your all, and enjoy every single minute on the pitch.

An extra special shoutout to our U16s who have to wait until Tuesday evening to get their season underway—your turn is coming!

🌟 Lancaster Giants Player of the Month Nominations – August 2026 🌟

A massive congratulations to all our nominees for August! Every single one of these girls has shown fantastic dedication, leadership, and team spirit. Here are the nominations:

⚽ U9/U10 – Bella
Bella’s commitment and attitude in training have been fantastic. She always listens intently, takes feedback on board, and constantly encourages and supports our newer players. On the pitch, she featured in two matches this month: a tough fixture against the U11s where she never gave up, and an outstanding performance for the U9s. After pulling off some fantastic saves in goal, she worked tirelessly in the second half when the team was short on players. Even with the match comfortably won, she sprinted half the length of the pitch in the final minutes to deny a certain goal. True Giants determination! 🩷

⚽ U11/U12 – Rose
Rose continues to step up as a real leader within the squad. She is always eager to help her teammates and leads from the front with total commitment, even when adapting to new roles on the pitch. Her work ethic setting an example for others is fantastic to see, and we are really looking forward to watching her continue to grow and develop over the coming season! 🩷

⚽ U14s – Madison
Madison earns her nomination for her incredible contribution both on and off the pitch. She has been a huge support with our Wildcats group, planning and delivering training sessions to help inspire our younger players. Alongside this, she always puts 100% effort into her own training and is a constant source of encouragement for her teammates. A brilliant role model for the club! 🩷

⚽ U16s – Violet
Violet has been a fantastic presence throughout August, bringing huge energy and a big smile to every single training session. Her positive, upbeat attitude gives the whole squad a lift. On match day, she backed up her training efforts with a brilliant performance, adapting seamlessly to a brand-new position and playing like an absolute natural! 🩷

It was a brilliant morning on the pitch with fantastic energy as all our teams put in the final preparations for the season ahead. A massive congratulations to our Players of the Week for their hard work and dedication:

Sunday Matchday Focus: Under-16s ⚽
Our U16s traveled away to Astley & Buckshaw for their final pre-season fixture. It was a fiercely competitive game filled with brilliant moments from both sides, but unfortunately, the home team took the win 2–1.

A huge well done to our matchday award winners:

Player’s Player of the Match: Daisy 🏆
A unanimous choice from the entire squad! With Lilly unfortunately missing out due to illness, Daisy stepped up at the last minute and put in an absolutely amazing display. Get well soon, Lilly!

Another dominant performance at the heart of our defence, keeping things completely locked down all game.
