🎾 An exciting year ahead at Slyne with Hest Tennis Club – 2026! 🎾

We’re really looking forward to a packed 2026 calendar at the club, with something for everyone – competitive tennis, social events, BBQs and some fantastic charity tournaments 💜

From our Opening Tournament in March, through summer American tournaments and BBQs, right up to the Club Finals, End of Season celebrations and Christmas tournament, it’s shaping up to be another brilliant year both on and off the court.

✨ What’s coming up in 2026?
✔️ Regular tournaments for all abilities
✔️ Popular American tournaments and social BBQs
✔️ Club Finals weekend
✔️ Winter handicapped doubles
✔️ Social events including coffee mornings and presentations
✔️ Multiple charity events, raising money for Cancer Care and Prostate Cancer

🎄🎾 Merry Christmas from Slyne-with-Hest Tennis Club! 🎾🎄

As we come to the end of another fantastic year at Slyne-with-Hest Tennis Club, we’d like to wish all our members and friends a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful festive period.

Thank you to everyone who has played, supported, volunteered, spectated and helped make the club such a welcoming and enjoyable place throughout the year. From league matches and social tennis to tournaments and club events, it’s been great to see so much enthusiasm on and off the courts.

A special thank you to our committee members, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. Your time, effort and commitment are hugely appreciated and make a real difference to the club and its members.

We hope you all enjoy a well-earned break, plenty of festive cheer, and we look forward to seeing you back on court in the New Year for more tennis, fun and friendship.

🎄🎾 Christmas Tournament Round-Up! 🎾🎄

Our final event of the year took place yesterday with the always-popular Christmas American-style tournament — and what a brilliant way it was to round off the tennis year. Whether the great turnout was down to the tennis or David’s excellent mulled wine, we may never know… but both certainly delivered! 🍷😄

A fantastic 16 players took to the courts, with a few spectators braving the winter weather to cheer everyone on. The tennis was competitive but good-natured, with several rounds played and plenty of festive breaks in between for mulled wine, sausage rolls and mince pies.

After all the matches were played, we had our final standings:
🥉 3rd place – Kevin
🥈 2nd place – Claire
🥇 1st place – Brendan

Congratulations to all our winners and a huge well done to everyone who played and supported the event.

A massive thank you to David B. for organising the tournament and for making (and carefully sampling!) the mulled wine — a true highlight of the day.

Our teams have been battling through the winter in the Lancaster & Morecambe Veterans League, and here’s how they’re currently placed:
🏅 Slyne Badgers – 🥇 1st in Division 2
🦊 Slyne Foxes – 5th in Division 1
🦚 Slyne Peacocks – 3rd in Division 3
👏 Fantastic effort from all players — especially the Badgers who are leading their division! Every match counts, and there’s still plenty to play for as the season continues.
