More updates from a fantastic Club Finals Week at Lampeter Bowling Club! 🏆

More finals took place at the club this evening, with some great bowls and closely fought matches.

🏆 Glasgow Cup (took place last night)
Champion: Huw
Finalist: Terry

🏆 3 Sets of 7-Up Singles

Finalist: Eddie

🏆 Dyffryn Aeron Cup
This one was a real family affair, with father and son going head-to-head in a very close match! Congratulations to Aled, who came out on top against Huw after a great battle.

Congratulations to Hari, who has become only the sixth Welsh representative to win the Police Sport UK Flat Green Bowls Singles title since 1945.

The competition has taken place at Newark Bowling Club, near Nottingham over the last few days, with Hari representing Wales after winning the Welsh Police Singles earlier this summer.

He produced a strong run of results on his way to the title, winning his opening match 21–11 against an opponent from Police Ireland, before a 21–10 win against a Gloucestershire opponent in the second round. He followed that with another 21–10 victory against an Irish opponent in the semi-final.

In the final, Hari secured the title with a 21–17 win against a Thames Valley Police opponent.

A great achievement and a significant addition to the history of Welsh representation in the competition.

Please consider signing and sharing this petition calling for bowls to be recognised as an eligible sport for GCSE and A Level PE qualifications.

At Lampeter Bowls Club, we’ve seen many youngsters introduced to bowls through their sports qualifications. Some have gone on to become members and continue playing the sport.

Bowls requires skill, strategy and commitment, and young people who choose it should have the same opportunity for their efforts to count towards their qualifications.

🌧️ LAMPETER OPEN TRIPLES TOURNAMENT – ABANDONED 🌧️

Sadly, today’s Lampeter Open Triples Tournament had to be abandoned due to the heavy rainfall, which left the green unplayable.

It’s incredibly disappointing after so many months of planning and preparation, especially with so many players travelling to Lampeter from more than 15 clubs across Wales. We’re truly sorry that the weather got the better of us today, and we’d like to thank everyone for their understanding and support.

A huge thank you must go to all our members who have worked so hard to make today possible – those helping behind the bar, in the kitchen, on the BBQ and everywhere in between. 🍔🍻

A special thank you to Tim for all the time and effort he has put into organising the entire event, and to our greenkeepers and club members who have worked tirelessly preparing the green and the club for today. Your hard work certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed. 💚

Thank you also to our Club President Jeff Evans for his kind words at mid due during a short presentation to club member Anwen Butten MBE - receiving a framed photograph to place up at the club to recognise her place in the Welsh Sport Hall of Fame. Diolch Jeff!

But the day isn’t over yet! 🎶🍻

We’re delighted that so many teams have stayed with us to enjoy this evening’s entertainment, and we’d love to welcome all friends of the club to come down and join us!
