Bowls Scotland Ladies D7

Well now that the dust has settled and everyone has had time to celebrate or think what might have been, I would like to give my thanks to you all.

Firstly, my thanks to Clubs who provided greens, markers and umpires for all First Stage D7 Games. Special thanks to those Clubs who helped me out at last minute with venue or day/time changes, it is much appreciated.

Sunday saw finals at Cupar and I must thank them for hosting District Finals. To Markers Dave & Susan, Scoreboard Markers Brian and Cherise, Bar Staff Wullie and especially to ladies in the kitchen, I thank you all for helping make the day the success it was. A special mention to Darcy for taking control of the Live Scoring throughout the day, keeping those not able to attend updated.

Now, the main event, the games. What can I say, there was some great bowling during morning and afternoon and this can be seen in scores. For some it was first time playing in this type of event and you should be proud of yourself for reaching this stage, take the experience as I'm sure you'll be back in the future.

Our D7 2025 District Final Winners are:

Over 55 Singles - Lynn Stein (Windygates & Durievale)
Over 55 Fours - Sharon Graham, Annettee Scott, Margaret Connor & Lorraine Duncan. (Auchtermuchty)

Singles - Fiona Malcolm (Strathmiglo)
Pairs - Nikkii Husband & Ruth Stewart (Cupar)
Triples - Lynne Borland, Lisa Willocks & Wendy Phin (Scotscraig)
Fours - Jane Anderson, Ann Bone, Julie Sword & Lynn Stein (Windygates & Durievale)

I am sure our 2026 D7 Ayr Squad will do well at National Finals this year. As District Coordinator I am and always will be proud of everyone who goes forward to represent D7 win or lose, go out there and first and foremost enjoy the experience.

Thank you all for a successful Stage 1 here's to Stage 2 and bringing back the silverware to Fife!!

We have finally reached District Finals, best of luck to everyone playing today.
Hopefully the weather will stay fair for us.

Go out and play your game but most of all, enjoy the day. You have all done well to reach District Finals and now have only one more game to play to reach " National Finals 2026".

Semi Finals are all completed and results are in, even though there were some "irregular" scorecards received. Please, Please can Skips ensure scorecards have full names on them and completed correctly, save a lot of hassle!

The District Finals take place on Sunday 7th June at Cupar Bowling Club.

Please note as per previous notification the Semi Finals will be played at Auchtermuchty, Duffus Park and Markinch.
The District Final will be played at Cupar BC.

I will post tomorrow full details of games and venue as Duffus Park can only host 3 of the 4 allocated games.
