Knutsford Vikings are a well respected community swimming club based in Knutsford Cheshire. We offer further development of young swimmers who have completed NPTS Stage 7. Once these are in place, the opportunity to compete is available for those who want it. Our swimmers have the opportunity to race in friendly internal galas such as the Point Score and Club Championships, represent the club agai

nst other clubs in team events, compete in open meets and aim to qualify and compete at County, Regional and National level. Racing in competition allows swimmers to put the techniques and improvements to fitness into practice and see how much they have improved against themselves. Swimming is a great way to keep active, fit and healthy whilst enhancing well being.The club also offer an expanding social program and very often friendships are formed for life. Safeguarding of all members is high on our list at Vikings. All of our poolside staff and most of our admin staff have had Safeguarding training and have DBS clearance. Our club also complies with the high standards set out by the governing body of swimming (Swim England) by achieving and maintaining the 'Swim21' quality accreditation mark. A huge congratulations to former Viking Adam Bradley on qualifying for both the Commonwealth Games and the European Championships this summer, representing Ireland! 🇮🇪

What an incredible achievement from Adam, everyone at Vikings will be cheering you on every step of the way this summer.
As if that wasn’t enough, Adam also broke the Irish Junior Record for the 100m Breaststroke earlier this spring. Truly sensational!

And while we’re celebrating former Vikings, a massive well done to Tom and Will O’Brien, who have once again qualified for British Nationals this year, alongside our current Vikings Ella, Tylia and Tatiana (representing SM), as mentioned earlier. Amazing achievements all round!

It’s shaping up to be a very exciting summer for the club, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything our swimmers are accomplishing.

Keep chasing those times, working hard and developing your skills, you never know how far swimming could take you! It could be you one day.

Another fun peaks & plains gala, we had loads of brilliant swims, a winners certificate and speeding ticket, new swimmers in our team and lots of parent help - thank you everyone.

Good Luck Ella tomorrow and Well done Tylia!

We hadn’t posted this earlier as to keep the pressure off Tylia

A huge well done to Tylia at the Aquatics GB championships/European and Commonwealth qualifiers.

A massive deal to even be invited to swim! Tylia went just off PB on Tuesday in the 100 Freestyle but posted a seasons best time only surpassed by her time at summer nationals last year.

Thursday is where Tylia really turned it in though, taking part in the 200m Freestyle, her main target event. After a heat where is couldn’t have gone worse in prep as Tylia already a little nervous tore her race skin just before going to the call room. She had to make an emergency change into her costume.
Thankfully she still made the final, and what a swim that was. A new race skin and calm of focused attitude, swimming live on BBC!! Tylia took 3 seconds off her PB and finishing 7th in a final containing 4 international level para swimmers, world record holders and Paralympic champions. She went out with purpose and attacked the first 100 going 2 seconds off her 100 time earlier in the week. Bringing it back in the 2nd 100 with everything she had.
A huge well done Tylia.

Ella goes tomorrow in the 50m Freestyle and we will all be behind her. After a really solid week swimming in the Irish championships last week, she is looking to step up again this weekend!

As I said earlier, this is a huge achievement from the girls! There is basically no higher level meet they could be swimming at this year without going internationally. And it cannot be understated how well they have done to reach this level.
