Tournament round ups!

Leopards (sponsored by Vision Properties) are on quite the roll, having already notched one tourno win and one runners up spot this summer.

Bobcats (sponsored by Leaver Landscapes) are raking in trophies left, right and centre, and we've actually lost track of it now.

Eagles (sponsored by Mollycoddles Doggy Day Care) were so unlucky to lose out in the final at Inkberrow after a whole day of being brilliant!

Pumas also had to settle for runners up medals at the Maypole 11v11 tournament.

We then had Ravens (sponsored by Aldi UK), Jets (MNB Precision Engineering) and Dragons (JandaSec) all knocked out in semi finals on penalties at Kingshurst and Leafield...at least Dragons got to celebrate receiving their league medals though!

Well done everyone, keep it up!

Following Saturday's shenanigans, a little note from the chairman...

"In our Centenary year, this picture celebrates the Club’s success - and only includes our First Teams' and Pigeons' Trophies; there were many more amongst our Junior Teams.

Not bad for ‘little old Knowle’...❤️🖤❤️”

(Unauthorised addendum from rogue admin!)
It should be mentioned, Mr Chairman put hours and hours of work in to make those celebrations happen, not to mention everything through the whole season to allow our teams the best possible backing - thank you, Stu!

We did a thing on Saturday...the open top bus parade! 🚌🏆❤️🖤

All the plans had come together to celebrate our centenary year in style, and alongside all the teams around the club who have had success this season. Of course, the weather then stayed true to form this season and decided it wanted a say!

Torrential rain certainly made being on the top deck and on the streets an experience, but it didn't dampen spirits, particularly with our Junior teams involved who made it noisy and exciting - they'll remember it for a long time!

Big thank you to all the friends, family and locals who cheered the bus round, and the business owners who popped out to say hi! Including the Mayor of Solihull Councillor Sardul Singh Marwa! Thank you also to Wythall Transport Museum for providing the bus and looking after us all!

Well done to all the teams and volunteers who took part and were good sports, even when soaked to the skin! 🤣

The U14 Kestrels had a brilliant season, and finished league runners up so it's only right that we update you with their last few player of the month awards. Sponsors Cheal’s on Wheels know a thing or two about good footballers too, hence backing the Kestrels this season!

March's award went to Daisy! Daisy is an energetic and dynamic wide midfielder who excels at stretching the pitch and creating attacking opportunities. She has a great work ethic and contributes both in Kestrels ability to defend by working hard to get back into position, but also showing top fitness levels to go support the attack. Daisy combines natural speed with technical ability in 1v1 situations and is a constant threat on the flanks. This season she has also developed her understanding of when to drive at defenders and when to combine with teammates, making her an even more difficult player to play against. As a right footer playing on the left, she has worked hard on her weaker foot which gives her more options to either cut inside to shoot or go outside and cross.

Daisy had a great month in March and contributed hugely to the team with goals and assists - well done Daisy, fully deserved!

Beth was the April nominee! She has had a tremendous season, but April was a really great month for her with Kestrels. She has developed into a confident dribbler with the ability to beat defenders in tight spaces and create room for her shots. Beth has an exceptional first touch under pressure, allowing her to quickly transition from receiving the ball to shooting. She also has excellent off the ball movement which is essential as a striker, she creates passing lanes and exploits space behind the defensive line. Comfortable striking the ball with power or placement, Beth also has the speed to outpace defenders and is extremely poised in front of goal, with a high conversion rate for 1v1s. In April she scored five goals in one match then a ten minute hattrick in another - so a massively deserved award again!
