With the local Winter league behind us and the Summer one still to commence spring provides an ideal time to play our in-house competitions.

Starting with our Pairs Presidents Cup this was a closely contested event with Sue & Stuart Parton triumphant and overall winners (left photo).

The second competition was a "seize the day" charity one, in memory of a very dear friend of the club" with Jean Jones & Robert Mumford very much seizing the win and victorious on the day (right photo).

What a fun time we had at our Halloween bowling event today. Dressing up was optional but all joined in.
We had a most competitive afternoon and at the break enjoyed lovely cakes and savouries with our tea.
Margaret Walker won the best dressed bowler and received a bottle of wine donated by Alan and Vera ... this was presented by our President Erica.
Last, but certainly not least, we raised a further £116 towards our chosen charity this year, which is Martin House Childrens Hospice ... 😇
A huge thanks to all for a wonderful afternoon.

Friday 15th Dec saw a good number of our members don their Christmas Jumpers and enjoy a fun bowling session alongside a tasty Christmas buffet.

All of our usual fees for the day were donated to our President Judy's chosen charity and £96 will soon be with Birk Crag Centre, which is a training, activity and residential centre owned by the North Yorks Girl guiding.

There was certainly no shortage of competitive bowling but equally played with festive spirit and amongst good friends .. 👫 👫 👫

With KSMBC members in seasonal good spirit 👻 our Halloween themed afternoon proved to be a great mix of competition and fun.
Somehow, we managed to fit a regular bowling session, two spooky quizzes, and three very testing bowls challenges into the event whilst still taking time to socialise over savouries and cakes 😊.
Congratulations to Erica for winning best costume🧙‍♀️ .. Madeline as quiz queen 🤓 .. and many thanks to Sue & Stuart for making the day a huge success 👏👏.

On one of the hottest days, of the year so far, our Pairs teams kept their cool as we battled out the second of our inter club tournaments.
Keeping to our recent Husband & Wife winning theme it was the pairing of Sue & Stuart Parton who rose to the top, holding off a concerted push from Jean Jones and Robert Mumford, our eventual runners up.
Congratulations Sue & Stuart on a fine result 🏆 and also many thanks to Stuart for his organisational skills on the day .. 👏 👏

As another match play season comes to a close we have plenty again to celebrate at Knaresborough Short Mat Bowling Club .. 🙌

Playing in division 2 of the highly competitive Vale of York league our Knaresborough B Triples team have finished as league winners and in quite convincing style.

Our yearly club championships are now underway and the results of our Singles competition are now in.
This contest often highlights some of our most talented individual bowlers and is always hotly contested.
Not expected however was a husband and wife pairing in the final .. Erica finally triumphed over Barry though and the pictures below show them receiving their Winners and Runners up trophies 🏆
Congratulations to Erica and to all who took part in what was a day of competitive bowling but played in great spirit and amongst friends.
Finally a special thanks to our B team club captain Stuart for organising the event which, with his support, took place flawlessly.

As the coronation of our new King fast approaches some of our club members took time out today to celebrate the event.

We remember at this time our recently departed Queen Elizabeth and thank her for her lifelong service 😇.

Looking now to the future, we all wish King Charles III an equally long and successful reign.
