Scottish Cup 1st Round
Kirrie 6 - 1 Crieff

Kirrie welcomed Crieff to Kirrie for the lads first ever Scottish Cup tie, on a glorious sunny day, playing at Westview today, the home of the Kirrie Juniors, who allowed the lads the use of the pitch and facilities to add that extra added experience for the memories. The Pitch was in great condition, supporters out in numbers, hopefully the lads could make the most of it.

Straight out the traps, the boys were on it from the first whistle, and were on the score sheet after good play up the right from Carson who found Jack who unleashed a rocket of a shot into the far corner.
Crieff we not going to allow Kirrie to have it all their own way, looking dangerous on the counter. Within 5 mins Crieff got themselves level after a long ball over the top on the counter, their attacker beating the defense for pace and found his team mate who finished with ease.
Kirrie started to get a foot hold of the game and were moving the ball around well in midfield and looking dangerous up both wings. Good work from Carson, which found Jack again who put Kirrie in front with another fine effort.
Kirrie defense were solid again today, keeping Crieffs at bay at protecting Ayren in Goal, being brave and winning the ball and starting the attacks from defense with good passing distribution. Blair winning aerial battles, and unfortunately collided heads with a Crieff player after another brave header, unfortunately both players playing no further part as a precaution.
Again Carson with good feet on the right, cutting it back to find Jack again but the defender getting a toe onto it, but it fell to Kian at the edge of the box, whos shot just had to much power for the away Keeper to keep out, who had made some great saves in the first half.
HT 3-1
Kirrie continued to display some great football in the second half, showing great attitudes and determination to prevent Crieff any clear opportunities, a great example was when a Kirrie corner ended up with Crieff on the attacks, but Zander and Larson worked hard to get together to track back and intercept and another when no.7 showed great feet on the edge of the box but the lads hunger to protect their goal, showed just how much this meant to them.
Kian grabbed his second of the game, when he placed a great effort over the keeper in the top corner.
A great team goal folowed, this one especially which started from a goal kick and the boys worked it out from defense all the way up for Brendan to slot passed the keeper, something which the boys have worked on since 7v7, and still showing how effective it can be.
Boys attitudes to work hard to always put pressure on Crieff when they were in possession, led to another goal, Hamish and Kian applying the pressure, Kian coming out with the ball, great pass into Carson, who was provider again, this time for Brendan, his first attempt was saved but made no mistake with the rebound.
The game was played in good spirits, from both sides and great sportsmanship showing from both sides 👏🏼

This was another great all round squad effort, every boy trying their very best for the team, from the lads that started, the game changers who were on the bench, everyone one of them brought their A game and played a part in this great result.

East Region Cup - round 1
Kirrie 13 - 1 Tayport

The boys welcomed Tayport to Martin Park on Sunday, to take part in the first round of the East Region Cup.
After starting slow in the previous games, they knew they'd have to relax on the ball and play the football they know they are capable of, and they did just that. Applying pressure from the get go saw them 4 -0 up with in 10mins, Grayson grabbing a hatrick and Larson grabbed his first.
This allowed us to make a few changes to allow the players not seeing as much game time previously to get a good run out.
Archie coming on for Grayson and grabbed a double before the half, along with Arron scoring his Second goal of the season. The defense holding strong from any threat, and the midfield disrupting tayport when they were in possession, and distributed the ball well to force tayport back.
Second half tayport working hard and were still trying to playing football in the correct way, with some good link up, held kirrie out for a large period. Brendan then opened the scoring in the second half, and reacting quickest to a good save from the keeper. Archie went on to grab his 3rd and 4th of the game after some good link up play.
Tayport grabbing a goal from a corner, after a long dangerous ball into the back post saw there player determined to make first contact while kirrie failed to react. A quick double through Carson and Larson just after, and Zander grabbing a goal on the final whistle.

Another good performance from every boy again, everyone playing a part and giving their best efforts.

Praise to Tayport who were a hardworking and courageous team, who are a credit to themselves and their club with the attitudes and efforts towards the game, only having 10 players but showed up, applied themselves very professionally, grabbing a well-deserved goal for their efforts 💪🏼👏🏼

Dundee Sporting 0 - 7 Kirrie

The boys headed to Dundee to play their first league game of the season, against Dundee Sporting, a side we know from not long playing in the league cup section, the boys would have to work hard to get a result.
The game started abit frantic from both teams looking, like the ball was a hot potato. Sporting began to test our defenses resilience first, with the boys having to switch on or could see themselves going behind, thankfully this spurred the lads on and they began to get a touch on the ball and trying to play football, they then starting to cause trouble up both wings.
The scoring was opened when jack played a great ball into the box from the right for Grayson to calmly finish his first of the game. Larson on the score sheet not long after, this time Jonny being the provider with a cut back from the right into the box and Larson reacting quickest to finish for his first.
A good run forward from Jack, saw him getting pulled back, with a covering defender saving the Sporting defender from seeing a red card. Grayson steps up and dispatched the free kick after a great strike.
Kirrie kept battling away keeping Sporting at bay and continued to look threatening up both wings especially the left through Grayson.
HT 0-3
Into the second half kirrie started the half as they finished the first, working well up both wings while working tirelessly in midfield and in defense to hold onto a clean sheet. Larson grabbing his second of game, with Archie delivering a good ball into from the left. Not long after, receiving from a throw in, Zander squared the ball inside for Kian to dispatch a good strike from the edge of the box. A good ball forward breaking the defensive line saw Larson through, delivering a dangerous ball into the box, the defender unlucky with the ball hitting off him and ended up in the back of the net. Sporting kept on battling to try and grab a goal, and had a chance when their striker was brought down inside the box, the penalty taker was unlucky with his effort that crashed off the bar. Blair rounded off the scoring after a powerful run from midfield saw him being brought down inside the box, Blair stepped up to take it, and scored a well taken penalty.
Every boy was brilliant in their performance and played a part in tonights result, playing some good football in spells and getting rewards for it, and battling hard in midfield and defensive to keep that clean sheet.

We wish Dundee Sporting all the best in the East Region and Scottish Cup, before we meet them again in the reverse fixture in a couple of weeks up in Kirrie.
