The 2025/26 North Caledonian League season came to a close for us on Saturday. With the team down to bare bones for the final match against Fort William, the lack of depth in the squad proved to be one of the key differences in the end.
Kyle Kinghorn got us off to a good start with a rifled shot inside the box to take the lead. Fort William then upped the tempo and began to find success in playing passes behind our back line, turning the game around as they went 3-1 ahead. Orkney needed to find a way to get back in the game and it came from our Player of the Season, Thorfinn Scott. Scoring twice to bring us back level at the half time break, and also cementing himself as the clubโs top scorer for the season.
The 2nd half looked to be too much for the 11 players to endure, as Fort William ran out comfortable 11-3 winners. Showing no mercy on Orkneyโs tired legs. All the best to Fort William F.C. on their cup final this Saturday.
Thanks again to all of our sponsors and supporters throughout the season.
