The 2025/26 North Caledonian League season came to a close for us on Saturday. With the team down to bare bones for the final match against Fort William, the lack of depth in the squad proved to be one of the key differences in the end.

Kyle Kinghorn got us off to a good start with a rifled shot inside the box to take the lead. Fort William then upped the tempo and began to find success in playing passes behind our back line, turning the game around as they went 3-1 ahead. Orkney needed to find a way to get back in the game and it came from our Player of the Season, Thorfinn Scott. Scoring twice to bring us back level at the half time break, and also cementing himself as the club’s top scorer for the season.

The 2nd half looked to be too much for the 11 players to endure, as Fort William ran out comfortable 11-3 winners. Showing no mercy on Orkney’s tired legs. All the best to Fort William F.C. on their cup final this Saturday.

Congratulations to Invergordon FC on their promotion into the Highland League.

It’s great to see a North Caledonian League club progress and make the first step up the SFA pyramid, all the best for the 2026/27 season ⬆️

Invergordon FC have been admitted to the Highland Football League after a u-turn on playoff plans as Rothes escape possible relegation.

A thrilling end to our final home match of the season yesterday! ⚽🔴

Goals from Jason Scott, Wayne Kirkness and Sam Barber capped off a strong team performance, with Alfie Macnamara deservedly being named Man of the Match. 👏

We also had the pleasure of celebrating our half time raffle winners. Congratulations to everyone who took part! 🎟️

It was great to welcome Inverness Thistle on their first ever trip to the island as a football club. To mark the occasion, we were delighted to present them with a bottle of Highland Park as a small memento of their visit.

Finally, a big thank you to all our supporters for your continued backing throughout what has been a challenging season. Despite the difficulties, there have been many positives to take forward, particularly with the number of talented young players who have stepped into the squad this year. The future is bright. 🔴
