Rover 0 East 4
A cracking second half performance saw East book a place in the Heddle cup final.
Although East had plenty of chances in the first half , a combination of poor finishing and a swirling wind, meant it was all square at HT.
The introduction of Thorfinn Scott early in the second really lifted the energy levels in the East side. A great through ball was really well controlled by Kian Vendy who then calmly lifted it over the keeper and into the net to make it 1-0. East were flying now and another great move saw Thorfinn pick up a rebound in the box and steer it into the net to make it 2-0.
East were now playing superb football and great work by Scott Rendall was rewarded with a pen when he was wrestled to the ground in the box. Steven Edwards stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 3.
Rovers were now on the ropes with East running riot and looking likely to score with each attack. Louis Hancock was then on hand to finish off another great, and lightening fast East attack, with a cracking strike to make it 4. Congratulations to Archie Rendall who turned 16 today and made his long awaited debut for East⚽️⚽️⚽️👏👏
East will now face Dounby in the final in early July⚽️
