Home & Away...
26/07 - Wrenthorpe V Saxton
Wrens win the toss and elected to field.
After an early dismissal in the second over, Saxton batted well with only 4 wickets being taken before they reached their ton. Consistent batting and a great partnership in the middle order saw Saxton finish on 195 with a generous number of extras from Wrens.
On the bowling side - a top economy from Aggie and great wickets from Millie! Great to see our younger players shining in this league.
Not to mention two bowled/caught from the skipper
After drinks - Wrens in to bat. Not a great start from the home team with an early batting collapse. However, a great knock from Millie with her first half century in senior cricket! A huge well done!! Things were looking up, but unfortunately Wrens finished on 109.
Well done Saxtonπ
02/08 - Saxton V Wrenthorpe
Back with avengeance!!
Wrens win the toss and this time take on the Saxton bowling attack. An outstanding 80 off 55 from opening batter Amy. With the top order keeping the total ticking, Wrens finish on 269 off 40 overs. Great batting from Emily, 29 off 24 and another half century for Millie (63 off 54)
Saxton starting two were up for the challenge with a top partnership. Their first wicket only falling at 106 runs. Opening batter also knocking 80 off 66. Although the Wrenthorpe Women still need to reduce the extras, some great bowling saw Saxton all out for 187 of 32 overs. Charlotte's return to the Sunday matches was well received with 4 wickets! π
Two back to back games against a lovely side - also featuring some future cricket stars π
