How many of you fall of the wagon because of one little set back?

In my experience it’s a high number.

A saying that has always stuck with me is if you had one flat tyre would you slash the other three? Well I think I can safely say the answer to that question is no. So why after one bad meal, one night of indulging, one small pain in your shoulder or leg do you throw in the towel?

Just draw a line under the calorific day and get back on track. Why would you stop doing all the right things because of one bump in the road - makes no sense! If your shoulder hurts do lower body and upper movements that don’t hurt. Same with lower do upper workouts. Think what can I do as opposed to what can’t I do.

Often it’s your mindset that needs to change. How you frame situations and life’s curve balls.

I say catch them, acknowledge them, learn from them if there is a lesson and get back on that wagon!

ELAN Body Coaching – Private Female‑Only Strength Training Gym 🏋🏼‍♀️

Membership Options

1. Premium Membership – £70/month Includes all classes + open gym time (This will increase to £80 at the end of June so buy now to lock in your price)!

2. Gym‑Only Membership – £40/month. Access to the gym outside class timetable (This will increase to £45 at the end of June so buy now to lock in your price)!

3. Pay‑As‑You‑Go Classes – £12 per class. Weekly spaces released every Saturday morning

Inductions - All new members must complete a gym induction.
Group inductions: Saturdays at 12pm

If you can’t attend Saturdays, please message directly to arrange an alternative time.

How to Get Started

4. Download the LEGITFIT app from your App Store
5. Sign in to view timetables and purchase memberships or passes under Products

Important Info

This is a private members‑only gym

All gym sessions must be booked via the app to manage numbers

Classes are capped at 10 people, so booking is essential!

Gym open hours are 5am - 10pm

How much do you spend on supplements per month?

Things like Collagen, “the golden pill”, mushroom gummies??

Now there are supplements that are proven to give benefits. Vitamin D, Omega 3 6 & 9, Vitamin C, B Vitamins, creatine, whey or plant protein etc. Most people lack some of those in their diet so justifiably should supplement.

However some supplements are a gimmick.

Now then how many of you spend £70 plus on those gimmick ones but don’t have a gym membership?

Gummies, collagen, golden pills are not the magic potion they are marketed to be. Most don’t contain the dose they say they will deliver and some barely get absorbed into the system.

So here’s the truth. Those without a gym membership that would help you build life changing muscle and give you endless benefits will say a membership is too expensive. However bare minimum effect supplement subscriptions are in the budget?

I get asked all the time - Do you think you will ever stop training?

My answer is 💯 no! I’m here for the long haul mate. 🏋🏼‍♀️

I’m training for old age - my biggest fear is losing my independence.

So I book out NON NEGOTIABLE time in my day to take care of 👇🏻

Do these three things to see your body change

1. Let’s look at your diet! 👀

⭐ Eat more protein, chicken, fish, steak, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese you gee the idea. Supplement with protein powder.
⭐ Eat more leafy greens with a rainbow of fruits & veg instead for fibre and vitamins instead of snacking on sugary treats.
⭐ Eat good fats like avocado, olive oil, nuts & seeds. More protein & fibrous foods keep you fuller for longer and help you maintain a calorie deficit in fat loss phases. Do also consider that calories still matter when eating whole foods if you want to loose timber.

2. Lift weights 2-3 times per week minimum. If you enjoy yoga, Pilates or line dancing that’s great, but also, lift weights. I can’t stress this enough LIFT THE FU***NG WEIGHTS!!

3. Walk to more places, or run, or cycle ….. just move more. Activity matters! Not just to maintain a healthy weight but to help your heart ❤️

Be consistent for a good 3-6 months and tell me you haven’t seen changes! Tell me you don’t feel better about yourself! 👌🏼

I’m taking some personal time. 🕰️

I feel so proud that together with my amazing clients we have created a gym where you guys can attend a class in the name of community without me there!! 🫶🏻❤️

I’m just taking a week to reset after the most mental 4 months of my life. I’m still around in case of emergency but other than that I’ll see y’all back to some serious lifting business on 26th!! 🏋🏼‍♀️

A couple of weeks ago I challenged my husband.

He has no interest in lifting weights but I’m afraid he married a woman who is completely invested. I know the power of muscle mass for your overall health and quality of life as we age.

Unfortunately for him I’m completely obsessed with him and need him to be around for as long as I am. ❤️🫶🏻
So I made him shake on it …… the day I get 10 pull ups he has to at least try strength training.

I hit 7 this morning (the 7th is questionable but we won’t discuss that 🤣)

Are you, was you changing your lifting routine week on week? If the answer is yes I’m guessing you are seeing little to no progression? Saw little to none and gave up?

Well that’s why! No offence but you probably suck, sucked at most lifts. You never do or did them enough to get good at any of them!

In order to become stronger and actually develop some muscle you have to follow a structured, progressive training regime. A plan that truly masters form on basic lifts so you are actually targeting the muscles you are wanting to build. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy variety with my training, but still, 11 yrs on I stick to certain lifts in my training week. I do them week in week out for a good 4-6 weeks before I change anything!!
If I’m still not happy with a certain lift I’ll keep doing it until I’ve mastered it!
Doing the same lifts over & over again in a structured way will only lead to better form, better mobility, range of motion and more importantly muscle growth & progressive overload.

Whilst I mention progressive overload, may I add in addition to dropping the need for constant change. You also need to drop the ego Arnold! 🤣
Loading up when you can’t perform a lift is like sucking a sweet with the wrapper still on ….. no flavour!
You have to master the lift first with a load you can handle, trust me when I say you will add weight over time. Patience is a virtue, you can start to push harder and lift heavier when you are nailing technique & you understand the mechanics of it.

In my humble opinion you are better of mastering the “boring” basic lifts that will actually get you results, then spending your time trying to squat balancing on a ball because it looked cool on a showman’s insta a page.
