Well what a day yesterday!
Firstly, let me get the thank yous out of the way.
A huge thank you to Kepak for sponsoring the event, the ladies in the tea hut, Thirst Events for keeping everyone refreshed, the lads who have worked so hard around the green improving the facilities, and our greensman for providing a great surface to play on.
Jacqueline Jac for constant raffle ticket and football card selling
A special mention to Peter Jose and Neil for running the sheet all day for me, along with everyone who helped measuring and marking throughout the competition.
Thank you to the Ellis family for providing a trophy that will be played for and remembered for many years to come.
Thanks also to all the bowlers for providing fantastic entertainment and to the spectators who stayed all day supporting the event.
Congratulations to Paul Bailey on winning the first Steve Ellis Memorial Trophy, and commiserations to Anthony Walker who performed brilliantly on his first visit to the green.
Finally, I would like to thank Kirkham Town Council for their support over the last 12 months. Without that support, I’m not sure the club would still be here today.
If I’ve forgot someone I apologise profusely
See you all for the doubles in July!
