What a game that was this evening!
Tonight we welcomed East Fife to Kirkcaldy for a Friday night Fife Derby and it didn’t disappoint!
The boys came out the traps fast and pressed the visitors well before creating a couple of chances.
In control of the game before some mistakes gave them the lead against the run of play.
We continued to work hard though and despite losing another goal we got ourselves back in the game with a well delivered corner turned in.
After that things took a turn for the worse and multiple mistakes as well as a penalty put us way behind at half time.
A slight formation change and chat about letting teams into games and the boys were ready to go. And that is what they did!
Straight from the whistle we were playing the type of football that we know we are capable of.
It was soon to turn in to goals galore and the boys were very much back in the game.
Another penalty and some very questionable refereeing decisions didn’t help but the boys fought right to the end.
After a chaotic 2nd half the game finished 11-7 in favour of East Fife.
The game could have went either way in the end and I think everyone there enjoyed the match.
Most importantly though was the attitude from the Rapids. Despite going behind we never felt sorry for ourselves and never once stop fighting.
Very proud of every single player.
Thank you to East Fife for coming through and good luck the rest of the season.
