A sunny Y3P for Maximum Adventure with an open group... finishing well within the 12 hours ๐Ÿ™Œ

One participant in particular overcame personal limitations of what she thought she was capable of, and exorcised some demons around height fears to boot. No names, but this is partly what it's all about for me, seeing people go beyond their perception of what they're capable of is worth every second of encouragement.

The main feature though....the skies! ๐Ÿ˜

The forecast of the weather front clearing out by lunchtime didn't materialise unfortunately, so the group didn't have any views, but they managed to stay pretty buoyant throughout!

Had to make a couple of adjustments to the plan and route to avoid the worst, with the anemometer recording 43mph at one point ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ’จ

A mixed bag last week, with a very wet and windy bronze excited for in Rivington, complete with Glastonbury style mud, creating a challenging exped for the group to say the least. Despite the crummy conditions, they got through it...mostly with a smile ๐Ÿ˜Š

After a hasty kit dry, headed to Coniston to work a marshalling/hill safety day for on an Adventure Element charity tri type event, cycling, canoe, and hike phases. Great teams and vibe throughout, with considerably less of the wet stuff ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Fair to say it was a bit dreich at this year's Cateran Yomp, and the Beanie bog definitely lived up to it's name....but the all round quantity of the wet stuff didn't dampen the spirits of this year's Yompers.

Around a 1000 participants, running/walking up to 54 miles in 24 hrs for the gold distinction award...all to raise money for the Army Benevolent Fund to support both veterans and their families.

It's a hard challenge at the best of times for any mere mortal, but the ones that stick in my mind are those directly affected that participate...the amputees and burn victims, that somehow don't just dig deep to do this, but do it with a smile. When you think you're having a bad day, you only need to think of any single one of them to put things into perspective, amazing human beings.

Good to see , and to boot.

Just landed from a great few days with this bronze assessment group in Teesdale for

We had stunning weather, and walked through similarly stunning scenery all along the Teesdale valley. The group were absolutely fantastic throughout, really gelled as a team, grasped concepts thrown at them easily and navigated like ninjas. They topped it all off with an absolutely brilliant music video about their exped.

Without a doubt one of the strongest teams I've ever assessed or supervised, and would definitely do really well at silver and gold levels...really hope they do continue working through the award levels.

First time a group has ever bought me a present as well, really shows they're genuinely thoughtful and caring individuals (N.B. this was NOT a bribe to pass them!! ๐Ÿ˜†)

A bit of a murky one for these guys from GLOWAA on a charity walk in one of my favourite spots on the Lake District 5 Peak Challenge. I guided them on the Y3P for last year, and it was nice to see a few familiar faces amongst the crowd!

The field became quite separated almost immediately, but well managed by in keeping the ratios in remit....93 people is a handful at the best of times...93 all moving at different speeds is at least 12 handfuls!

All down in good time, tired, but well pleased with their achievements.
