Tom is the groundsman for Kirkby Lonsdale FC who ensures that players, referees, and visiting teams have a high quality pitch week in, week out. Tom stands out for the sheer amount of time, care, and pride he puts into the pitch maintenance, often working behind the scenes in all weathers, with the pitches regularly recognised as among the best in the league. Kirkby Lonsdale Football Club simply could not operate to its current standard without his dedication and passion for providing outstanding facilities for the game.

🏆 Shield Runners-Up – Algarve Tour 2026 🇵🇹

The boys have just about all returned home after a fantastic trip to Portugal, and we’re proud to have finished 2nd in the Shield competition at the Algarve Tour in Albufeira.

A great day of football, plenty of memories made, and a trophy to bring home. Huge thanks to everyone who played, supported, and represented the club so well.

Kirkby Lonsdale AFC 5 – 0 Kirkby Stephen
Goals: Taylor, Armstrong, Wharton, Carter Brown, Wozny

Kirkby welcomed League Cup winners Kirkby Stephen following their impressive victory over Cartmel on Thursday evening.

As expected, Kirkby Stephen made a number of changes, with several reserve players stepping up admirably.

Kirkby took the lead through another Carter Brown assist, with Taylor managing to bundle the ball home after a scramble in the box.

Carter Brown then got on the scoresheet himself when his free-kick slipped through the stand-in goalkeeper’s grasp.

Prolific striker Wharton added a third after capitalising on Kirkby Stephen attempting to play out from the back.

Utility man Armstrong grabbed his first goal of the campaign to make it four, while Wozny went agonisingly close to scoring from inside his own half after spotting the keeper off his line.

The second half was less eventful, with Kirkby Stephen battling hard despite their makeshift side.

Kirkby eventually made it five when the tireless Wozny capped off his man-of-the-match performance with a deserved goal.

Tom Ladds had Foster to thank for preserving the clean sheet after briefly forgetting which way he was playing.

We wish him well as he departs to take on a player-manager role at reserve division 2 side, Corinthians Reserves.

Thanks to Kirkby Stephen for stopping for refreshments after and congratulations on a excellent season for themselves winning the league cup and making 2 other semi finals

That concludes an excellent second half of the season, with Kirkby winning eight of their last ten games.

There is plenty of potential in this team, and they will be looking to kick on again next season.
