⚽ Edenthorpe U10 Blacks – Match Report

A fantastic start to the new season for our U10 Blacks, who travelled to Doncaster United today for their first league game of the campaign.

It was a brilliant team performance from start to finish, with every player contributing and playing their part. We’ve welcomed quite a few new faces into the squad this season, and it was great to see how quickly the boys are already beginning to settle in and gel as a team.

There was plenty of hard work, determination and teamwork on show, with lots of positives to take away from from our 1st fixture.

Adam was rock solid at the back, limiting Doncaster United to very few chances.

Start of the new season and yes it was raining but that didn’t stop Edenthorpe U11 Reds who was playing away in there first game against Hemsworth Town.

An absolute brilliant game for both teams,toe to toe alway through the match neither side giving up.Some really good teamwork from Edenthorpe.A brilliant start to the season!

MATCH REPORT FOR U11 BLUES

EDENTHORPE U11 BLUES vs BRODSWORTH MAIN FC ⚽

A fantastic start to the season, with all the lads excited and ready to get going!

We had to absorb some early pressure from a strong Brodsworth side, but the boys worked hard defensively and gradually grew into the game.

As their confidence increased, we produced some excellent full-pitch passing moves and made great use of the space out wide. Some brilliant link-up play created an opening for Zayne, who fired an unstoppable rocket into the top corner! 🚀

The game remained competitive, with both teams working hard and playing some excellent football. Brodsworth enjoyed a strong spell of their own, moving the ball well and creating chances.

The Blues responded brilliantly, with Reuben and Frankie combining superbly once again before Frankie finished off another excellentb attacking move.

A really encouraging team performance, full of effort, teamwork and some fantastic passing football. Plenty of positives to build on as we continue developing throughout the season! 💙💛

Edenthorpe U11 Yellow were home today againt Brierley for our first game of the season and what a great match both teams giving there all with some end to end football played.

New players have settled in so well with the existing team and looking forward to the season ahead.

Always tough to pick a POTM when everyone played so well but honours went to 3 players today,
Freya, Jarvis and Egor on his debut for Edenthorpe all showed comporsure on the ball, great in defence and attacking forward play.

Won the penalty and had the courage to take it to give us the lead. Played his part in the 2nd goal and than scored a fantastic solo effort to round off a great performance.

Oppositiona MOTM:

Outstanding energy and commitment to every ball. So fast over 5 yards and used his strength to perfection. Set the tone early against tricky wingers but got the better every time.

1st League game of the season and with all the change and noise around our team over the summer we have put in a classy performance to let the football do the talking. Every player was fantastic and the 4.1 score line doesnt really reflect how well we played and how many chances we created.

Defensively we were solid and kept their chances down to bare minimum. Midfield where Thorne are at their strongest, we won the battle in the middle and got the ball down to play some good football, especially with the long grass making it difficult. Offensively I thought we was spot on, a great mix of technical ability and raw pace to play the football and press and attack aggressively. On another day we could have doubled our goals.

Some massive positives and something to build on but not take for granted. This year will be a tough one with some very good teams in the prem but we will give it everything, every week 💪🟡🔵

An away match vs. a good Warmsworth Lions team for U10 Blue to start the new season.

Edenthorpe flew out of the blocks and had a fantastic start. Passing and moving, making good decisions and plenty of energy. This continued throughout the match. Brilliant start from the boys

Football is back and Edenthorpe U8 reds kicked off at home against a strong club Thorne blue team. The kids took what we have been training on into practice on the field, looking up and passing the ball to our players.

What an absolute day at the Champions Tournament our first tournament as a team Edenthorpe U11 Reds. We Played 8 games won 6 drew 2 even won on penalties and went to the final but got pipped to the post by a goal but we played as a team and won as a team and are the Champions Runners up.We have a team of very tired boys playing in this heat but we the coaches and parents are absolutely so proud of them 🏆
