Big thank you to those who could attend the Bitz Box Doubles, i had a ball, even if my expensive not so super volkite destroyers are pants. Im still using rhem and one day they will perform well.

Big thanks to Exploding Dice for hosting and to Simon B for his hosting skills, and to Connie for setting up nicely themed tables.

Huge thanks to Matthew M and Aaron McC for bringing the extra 2k lists. It was greatly appreciated.

The intention was to have a good mix of people learning and being supported throughout. As well as getting a better feel for how different forces interact.

By focusing on different types of kills it was a chance for people to focus on army strenghs to try and get one of the four prizes. Only three were claimed as there was no psyker kills.

The main money prizes were the two command squads with a raffel. This was to take the emphasis of of winning to focus more on enjoying the games.

I hope those that participaten in the bitzbox hero enjoy their model, i have a shiny new Moritat :)

Congratulations to Mark for best painted Alpha Legion. It was a close contest and could have went to a number of you.

Its about time for my to hybernate for a few months, take care, have fun, and hope to see you at the next event.

As i sign off does anyone have any memorable moments they want to share?

One of the funny moments for me was Alex disordered deep strike, the second of the day. I paid for takeing enjoyment from it by him passing so many 2 up saves.

Thanks for the feedback on the Artis Majoris Hersey Event. There are a few takeaways, and I’m going to try and arrange to get another campaign day something over the summer.

It will be another 1 day event, and the price will be something similar. However I will look to see if I can get a goody bag or a warrior lodge medals made up for the Traitors and something for the imperials (something without a graven image) 🙂.

Something I’ve done in the past but worked out quite expensive was creating dog tags that are handed out randomly, at the beginning of the day. You don’t get to pick but can swap with teammates. These are single use bonuses that can be used in each game, and contain things like +1 WS, +1 Attack, +1S etc. Is this a feature that people would get behind? For those that attended events with this do you think it will add or detract from 2.0?

I’ll make a set time for the raffle, and allow everyone time to buy additional tickets.

I’ll simplify the campaign pack, and there will be no need for submitting lists in advance, but you will have to submit legion/army and allegiance. [Ironhands Loyalist]. This may help with the pregame chat on list building and pairings where you can really delve into making some tough combinations.

Fully painted armies are the dream, but making time to do this can be difficult so again there will be no painting requirements, but it may be good to award those with painted armies to get something like a best painting award, and or points for the campaign day for their chosen sides.

I also do want to get a ZM table ready for the next event as an option for some people to use.

There will be more set time for organising teams, tactics etc. built into the mission pack.

For clarity we had 16 participents, Entry fee £15 per person

£7.50 per person for event and terrain hire
£7.50 per person donation

Raffle raised an additional £32 on the day that covered the cost of the prize.

We always talk about the incredible community we have at the shop and they never fail to amaze me!

At the weekend one of our Community Fund Committee members ran a Horus Hersey Event at Exploding dice and raised around £120.00 for the fund! A huge thank you to John for organising the event and Exploding dice for allowing him to use that space.

We are going to match the £120.00 raised by John which means a total of £240.00 was raised for the community fund.

The community fund is a fund accessible by anyone in the local community who may be suffering from hardship. Our committee are due to start up talks about the next round of fundraising and applications. We are considering using the community fund to run more wide range events in local community.

if there is anything you would like to see the fund used for please let us know!

Finally getting round to silly things like name changes, shouldn't effect anything. Over the next few months we are looking at being a bit more active again.
