The Bothie is a purpose built community hub in the heart of

Kintore. Opened in December 2013 and driven by Action Kintore, a charity set up to provide facilities for the community with the help of many local organisations including Grampian Opportunities, Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action and Garioch Partnership. The Bothie is the home of many youth and community groups, meetings and birthday parties, and with the help of volunteers and youth workers, we have a range of youth groups set up to provide a safe, fun environment for the young people in Kintore to come along and get some support and advice on issues currently affecting them. Youth groups and projects are developed and delivered by our youth development worker, Rachel, and her brilliant team of youth workers and volunteers. We also hold fundraising events (mostly run by the young people who attend the Bothie) in order to raise money to cover the running costs of the charity.

Action Kintore are seeking new members to join and help bring people together, making community cohesion possible 🧑‍🤝‍🧑👭

Do you have ideas on how to ensure the Bothie is thriving for our community members and young folk? Any great community cohesion project ideas?! Are you good at social media and promotion? Do you want Kintore to keep the Townhouse and see it reopened and used? Maybe you're good at funding applications, gardening or general maintainance?

No previous experience is necessary, just a passion to work together and help make Kintore

Interested?! Come along to our open evening on 6th of October, 6pm-9pm and meet the current board members, young people and youth workers and see how you can help make a difference 🥳🎉

Hey folks!

Bit of a personal promotion here 😊 Im heading back to Kenya for my 7th trip this October with my charity Scotland na Kenya-Pamoja for Children and this time, we are taking 10+ year Bothie member and now youth worker, Lucy, with us!!

As always, we'll be working with the children and young people in and around Embu Town and would love to provide them with bubbles, balloons and other wee games and crafts to play with. We'll also be offering our current Bothie guys the opportunity to write letters and drawings for us to exchange with our teeangers in Embu 🥳

On Sunday 13th of September, we'll be having an information and story telling fundraiser at the Bothie, with a range of Kenyan crafts, hot drinks and tasty treats for sale! These are 100% self funded trips so all money raised goes into the charity and spent on the local community we work with in Kenya. Hope yo see you there 😊
