Dressage, Eventing and Stable Management Coaching
BHS Stage 4 Senior Coach in Complete Horsemanship
BHS Stage 5 Stable Manager
UKCC3 BD & BD Youth Coach, UKCC3 Generic Early in my career, I was fortunate enough to receive top class dressage training whilst working with Herr Meyer zu Strohen in Verden, Germany, followed by a few months in Switzerland in a dressage stable. I always consider myself
fortunate to have been able to receive some of my most valuable training at Le Cadre Noir in Saumur, France. This training has influenced my own coaching with the focus being the vital correct training of the rider to help influence and improve the horse. I am passionate about training horses to their optimum physical and mental ability and drawing out the positives in both the horse and rider to improve as a combination by explaining exercises in a clear and logical way. I am happy to coach any level of casual or competitive rider and my satisfaction as a coach is to see each rider progress with their horse and to enjoy the benefits within their remit. Whilst dressage may be my forte I thoroughly enjoy coaching show jumping and cross country pupils alongside the all important and valuable skill of lungeing a horse. My own career began as a keen member of the Pony Club and I am passionate about helping not just Pony Club but Riding Club and BHS exam students to improve their skills and knowledge in the ridden, stable management theory and practical aspects. For many years I ran my own dressage and eventing yard both in Moray and latterly where I currently live in Perthshire. Having Evented myself over many years to FEI 2* level and having brought on many young horses for clients in dressage, showjumping and eventing disciplines, I now compete purely in dressage following a serious accident in 2016. My own horse is competing in British Dressage competitions at Advanced Medium level and we have recently competed for a third time at the prestigious Hartpury Championships.
