*JUNIOR PLAYERS*

I get quite a few enquiries via WhatsApp and Messenger about junior friendly chess sessions. There is a chess club in Inverness library from 2pm - 4pm every Saturday which may be an option for some people.

Hi all. I've had a few enquiries recently from parents trying to find somewhere for their children to play chess. At the moment we play in a pub on Thursday evenings so it's not the ideal environment for younger players. Would younger people be interested in getting together to play at a more appropriate time? Perhaps an evening after school or at the weekend? If there's enough interest we could organise a time and place. Thoughts welcome, thanks. John.

Back at The Abbey this Thursday, back open again apparently.

It's now been confirmed that The Abbey will be closed until further notice so the venue for the foreseeable future will be The Red Lion (Beastie) in Forres. Usual time, 8pm.

Potential venue change for next week's chess club. If The Abbey is not open we'll meet at The Red Lion (Beastie) in Forres. 8pm as usual.
