So our women's section had a very busy and warm Sunday.
Our usual training still took place at the school. Lower in numbers today and they all finished cream crackered when walking off the pitch but nonetheless a good session. 🎉
Our Blue Squad played in the very first Birmingham County FA Women's Walking Football County Cup Final at Ray Hall Lane . We lost out 1-0 to Boldmere Bears in the final , we picked up a couple of worrying injuries and just ran out of legs on a very warm day. Congratulations go to Boldmere from all of us . Very well deserved 🎉 we got very nice runners up medals 👍
Then our Red Squad played over in Worcester at Inkberrow in the over 50 section of that tournament. A tough day at the office against some very very strong teams indeed but our heads were high and at times we frustrated our opposition n we played some nice passing football. All a learning curve , everyday a skool day 😉..and heres some pics of today's tournaments

1-2 on penalties.
Hartshill through to Regional Semi-Finals.

A combative game played in good spirit and conduct at Rushall Olympics. Chances at both ends with mainly distance shots all being well handled by both goal keepers when on target. Second half saw Corinthians come closest with a ball across to the penalty spot area and man running on shoots but top save with legs by Tony Drew.

Penalties:
Corinthians start and score first leaving Drew with no chance for a top class pen at pace to his left. 1-0
Cooper takes our first and another cool pen well struck to his right. 1-1
Next up and another well struck and high but sure Tony would say he had it covered. I say well left! It hits the underside of the bar and bounces out!1-1
Up steps Stephen Cox who tries to out-fox the goallie down middle. He doesn’t move. Saved 1-1
Third pens and another stuck well but our cat Tony Drew leaps left and saves! 1-1
Last up is Stephen Nicholls. Captain and all stakes on it. Hard hit to goallie’s right he does his job.
Goal and 1-2!

All players had good games in a great match.

Our women hosted a fabulous league type friendly inviting Arden Pinks to join us. We followed that with a Mash Up tournament where four teams all played each other. Some really great football played today in both fixtures. A massive shout out to Max who covered between the sticks in the first event , she played out of her skin, a brilliant goal by Jackie made it 1-1 and honours even. A very well done to Arden Harts with 7 points bagged to top the Mash Up Tournament table. If Carlsberg did women's walking football days , this would be one ...🎉🎉🎉 Thanks for being great guests our Arden friends and a shout out to our three refs today who kept us all in check .

A warm evening at training tonight, full on 11 a side produced some thrilling moments.

Goalkeepers more fitting for the catwalk than the penalty box.

Controversy over the forward passing penalty, I'll be calling Howard Webb later. 🙄

So the annual trip to The Manor and Ashbury , Devon , ..(also known as the Laugh Until We Cried Hartshill Women's tour 26 ) ,is now over as 11 of us returned home today from a long absolutely fabulous weekend. We laughed until we couldn't laugh anymore . Crazy golf, pool, walking football, continuous cricket, resin crafts, leather binding , Uber Quoits, target bowls, pistol and rifle shooting, archery, Zumba , Salsa , Tai Chi , pickleball, tennis , badminton , hydro spa , swimming . Oh and drinking. 😉 was literally just a flavour of our long weekend. Roll on next year. We cannot wait. . Here's the pics we can share 😉

Walking football offers more than movement. It brings routine, connection, laughter, and a reason to get out and do something positive each week.

Inclusive. Safer. Slower pace. No contact. Great fun.
