π’βͺ He's only gone and come back.
Glynn Smith. The coat, the red hat, and that beard.
This morning we said it'd make a Greek god pack it in and go home. Turns out we had the wrong pantheon entirely.
Right. Seriously for a minute, because this bit matters.
From Saturday 3rd October, Glynn is taking our Mini Eagles again. If you don't know him, here's the short version. 17 years at this club, and a long list of kids who took their first ever touch in front of him and are still here now. He said he was done. We're delighted he wasn't.
About that hat. It's Ajax, and that's no accident. Everything Glynn does with our youngest players comes from the Dutch way of coaching. A ball each, hundreds of touches, and as much fun as you can pack into 75 minutes. No queuing. No standing in lines. Just kids playing football and falling in love with it.
Mini Eagles is for Year 1 boys and girls, and no experience is needed at all. Saturdays, 10.15 to 11.30 at Eagle Park. Β£5 a session, cash only.
There are 48 places. That's the lot.
And here's the bit that really matters. In the spring we form our new Under 7s 3v3 teams, and our Minis graduate straight into them. Start in October, and by next season your child is pulling on a Kewford Eagles shirt properly. No hunting round for a club, because they're already at one.
Glynn's got Matt Weston alongside him.
Bring boots, shin pads (those aren't optional) and anything they can run about in.
Registration is open now. Link's in the first comment.
Welcome him back below. And if you reckon you can do better than our Thor effort, we're all ears. π
