The grading has been moved to 13th July, if you have any questions about what will be covered, or what you need to know for your level please ask Li.

Please remember that Japanese etiquette requires that we should give a small bow when entering the dojo and also bow to the Kamidana (spiritual shelf) before stepping onto the tatami mats.

If you are ready to train before the classes start then please start warming up with stretching exercises, rolls and break falls, if Sensei is not present then one of the higher grades may lead and suggest routines.

The dojo monthly ‘newsletter’ has been moved here to the FB page, hope you all enjoy them.
The next grading will be in June for current kyu grades, any questions about the grading please ask LI.
The new dojo has really taken shape and we hope you all enjoy the training there.
By now your grasp of Japanese terms should be improving so here are some more you might want to learn:
Numbers; one to ten – ichi, ni, san, shi, go, roku, shichi, hachi, ku ju.
Directions; mae – forward, koho – back, naname – diagonal, Hidari – left, migi – right, jodan – upper level, gedan – lower level, chudan – middle level.
Instructions; Hajime – begin, matte – wait, yame – stop, hai – yes, iie – no.

Classes have got off to a great start this year it’s really good to see you all again.

Our basic training in bujinkan starts with the tenchijin ryaku no maki, meaning the principles of heaven, earth, man or the heaven strategy scroll. Most of the group are now familiar with the first scroll - ten ryaku no maki, and gaining confidence in the second scroll - chi ryaku no maki. If you any questions about either please ask Li or a shidoshi-ho and they will be happy to enlighten you!
