The Schools County Championships took place over the weekend, with athletes competing for their chance at attending English Schools.
Momentum Sports Athletes were out in full force for the Championships with several fantastic performances*.

We also saw athletes attend championships further afield in counties such as Middlesex and Sussex.

Across the 3 different counties Momentum Sports athletes took home 14 medals! 1 bronze, 5 silver and 8 gold 🎉

Congratulations to those who have qualified and that will be going on to represent their county and to everyone who took part, just qualifying for the schools competition is a great achievement!

*results as listed on the Surrey Schools Website or open track, some performances may be missing.

There are still spaces available for the 5.00pm Friday’s at Walton!

This collaboration between Aspire To Greatness and Momentum Sports takes place at the Xcel Sports Hub, Walton-on-Thames, KT12 2JP!

The senior and U20 SEAA Championships returned to Bedford over the weekend and lots of momentum sports athletes attended the event.

Sophie achieved a gold medal in the senior women’s 800m. Sam also represented the senior athletes, making the semi-finals of the senior mens 200m

Lily went home with a gold medal in the U20 200m and Ella earned a silver medal in the U20 800m. Charlie made the finals of the 400m with the fastest heat time but injured his hamstring around the 350m mark, despite this he still made it through in under 50 seconds!

Some distance events were held at the senior/U20 champs for younger athletes.
Ethan raced in the U18 2000SC heading home with 5th place and a PB!

Racing Rundown 30th-31st May!

Lots of events took place over the weekend with Momentum Sports athletes representing both and other clubs!

The YDL at Kingston was full of action, a particular highlight being two Momentum Athletes, Ruby and Maya, battling it out in the 800m with just tenths of a second between them!

The Surrey Champs was an opportunity for several athletes to compete for county titles with a total momentum medal haul of 7 medals, 4 gold 🥇, 1 silver 🥈 and 2 bronze 🥉 and lots of PB’s for athletes!

Over at the London Universities and Colleges Athletics (LUCA) Outdoor Championships Tayla and Christina took on the 400m! Christina also raced in the 800m and her universities relay teams!

Oscar travelled to Birmingham to race in the 400m, finishing the lap in 51.36s.

Finally the “EMA London Masters International X Woking AC Champs + Open” took place at Woking SportsBox with 7 MTC athletes in attendance. For the Masters; Ann placed second overall for W40 3000m (11:58.71), James stormed to second in the M55 100m and a PB of 12.87s, Pat sped to first in the M65 100m (13.14s) and Sally took the title for the W50 800m with 2:57.02! 🔥
In the open; Arun raced in the 100m (12.04s) and 200m (24.41s), achieving a PB in the 200m. Ryan also raced in the 100 (11.57s) and 200 (22.98s).

Over the weekend of 23rd-24th May several athletes competed in the National Athletics League

Sophie, racing for Blackheath and Bromley HAC, set a 4 second PB of 2:09.13 in her 800m, improving on her time from earlier this year where she competed in the event for the first time since 2024. With some fantastic photos from 📸

Also at the NAL Championship South Match 1, were Christina and Peter representing Kingston & Poly AC. Christina raced her first outdoor 400m of the year finishing the lap in a time of 60.52s.
Peter had a great day in the office with PB’s in every event he competed in! 34.81s in the 200, 73.47s in the 400 and 2:49.84 in the 800, what a day!

Over at the Championship West Match, Naomi competed in the 100m hurdles, representing Yate, running a time of 15.81s, her fastest so far this year!

On the same weekend, Sam and Rebecca headed much futher afield to the IFAM Outdoor in Brussels 🇧🇪

Sam ran a seasons best at the event of 10.60s in the 100m! Rebecca competed in the 800m and also set a seasons best of 2:07.42

Part 2 of the Surrey County AA Championships took place this weekend at the Weir Archer Athletics and Fitness Centre.

Lots of Momentum Sports athletes competed across a number of track and field events, representing a number of clubs. returned with an overall haul of 17 medals, 3 bronze, 5 silver and 9 gold!🥇🥈🥉* While Momentum Sports athletes as a whole (Momentum Sports coached & Momentum Track Club athletes) brought in a grand total of 24 medals 5 bronze, 7 silver and 12 gold!
Medals were also achieved further afield in other counties including Berkshire and Middlesex, with lots of athletes achieving or very close to PB’s!

*medal haul, results, names, PBs and SBs correct as submitted and listed on Roster, with some field results missing

It was great to see such a turnout and a big thank you to Natasha for attending the weekend to help keep everyone moving (.sportstherapy) as well as to coaches, family and friends for supporting their athletes on the day.

We’d also like to thank the officials and Surrey County AA for their support of the championships.

After the release of Mark’s episode we discovered he may have forgotten to mention a few things… Mark is one of our experienced coaches helping a lot of our athletes, especially in sprints and hurdles, for over 12 years. He is also a track starter and has started lots of competitions around the world.
