Everyone at Skirlaugh would like to congratulate Alan Parker BEM on his well deserved recognition in His Majesty’s Birthday Honours, where he was awarded the British Empire Medal for voluntary services.

This honour could not have gone to a more deserving person. Alan has dedicated countless years to our great game, positively impacting the lives of thousands of young people and adults through his passion, commitment and tireless work within Rugby League.

Known by many as “Mr Rugby League”, Alan has always been there to offer support, guidance and advice whenever it’s needed. His contribution to the sport, both on and off the field, has been immense and has helped shape the Rugby League community we are proud to be part of today.

People like Alan are what make this sport so special, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved.

Congratulations, Alan, on this fantastic achievement.

Another busy day of rugby ahead for Skirlaugh tomorrow.

We have 4 teams at home and 1 team away, with plenty of action taking place down at Eastside throughout the day.

If you’re free, come down and support the players, coaches and volunteers. Your support on the sidelines is always appreciated.

Our U6s and U7s were recently invited to be part of a brilliant evening of rugby at York, proudly taking to the field as flag bearers before watching St Helens Women secure the win and enjoying the York v Catalans clash.

The U7s also got the opportunity to play against Lock Lane U8s, putting in a tremendous performance. Meanwhile, our U6s played amongst themselves and had an absolute blast, with every single player leaving the pitch buzzing with excitement.

To top off an already memorable night, we received an email praising the girls for their behaviour, enthusiasm and energy, describing them as a credit to the club and saying they would be welcome back anytime.

It was also lovely to see Jodie Cunningham and Amy Hardcastle, who remembered the girls from meeting them at Wembley last year and were delighted to see them again.

A huge well done to all of our girls, who represented Skirlaugh with pride, passion and smiles from start to finish. We couldn’t be prouder!

Under 5’s Shrimps Trainers & Listener Of The Week🥕

Archie was really good in my drills today he really concentrated what he was doing then he was brilliant in the game he got some great tags and scored a couple of brilliant try’s, well done Archie.

Freddie was excellent today, always really switched on and attentive, very fast on his feet and knew exactly where he needed to be during the game at the end, scored a great try and pulled a good few tags! Well done Freddie

Every time I saw a coach giving instructions I saw lucca fixed in to listening and then he implemented his skills in the drill.
Well done pleasure to coach!
