Match Report – U10s vs Springhead FC ⚽

This mornings fixtures against Springhead FC proved to be a valuable learning experience for the boys. At times, we struggled to find our rhythm as we continued working hard to implement the principles of compactness and cover 🧠📚 that we’ve been focusing on in training.

Despite this, the team showed great determination in the first game to secure a great result ✅.

A brilliant early brace from Jacob T ⚡⚽⚽ set the tone, followed by quick-fire goals from Haryad 🚀 and Mo 🎯, giving us a deserved win.

The second game was more challenging. We lost a bit of our shape and structure, particularly when out of possession, but the boys showed real resilience 💪 and character to hold on for a draw 🤝. It was a hard-fought result, and at times we were perhaps a little fortunate 🍀, but the effort and commitment were there for all to see.

Overall, it has been an excellent season across both phases 🌟. Week in, week out, the lads have demonstrated outstanding effort, work rate and commitment 🔥.

Most pleasing of all has been their development 📈. We are asking a lot of them in terms of understanding and applying advanced concepts for their age & ability and it’s fantastic to see that no one shies away from the challenge—even when setbacks do occur 👏.

A big thank you to all the parents for your continued support 🙌, and to coaches Phil and Liam for their hard work and continued support – it really does make a difference when you guys are around👏⚽.

As we close out the season, we look forward to our presentation evening 🏆, continued training sessions through to early June ⚽, and several summer tournaments 🌞. After that, we will all enjoy a well-earned 6–8 week break 😄—but don’t worry, one or two impromptu one-off sessions might still pop up during that time 😉.

A proud group performance this season and another step forward in their football journey - well done everyone ⚽🔵⚪️⚽️

This Sunday we’re back at home as we take on Hessle Rangers in what promises to be a great game. The squad has been developing really well over this phase, and the effort the lads are putting in on the training pitch is really starting to show on match day.

There’s a strong sense of momentum building within the group, and we’ll be looking to carry that into Sunday with another disciplined and hard-working performance. Togetherness, focus, and energy will be key as we aim to keep progressing.

Looking forward to seeing you all there—your support makes the difference. 💪⚽

Hall Road Rangers (Group 4) vs Pelican – Match Report

A tough double‑header at home today against a physical and competitive Pelican side.

Credit to the boys — they didn’t wilt and stood up to a team that can be intimidating both on and off the pitch.

Game 1:

We looked to stretch the pitch and created overloads through a mix of wide and central play, switching the ball well at times. However, we let runners go on a few occasions and got caught out by over‑committing when trying to break quickly. We didn’t capitalise on some good overloads or breaks — a key learning point around recognising and balancing risk moving forward.

Game 2:

A great response. Another evenly contested game, but this time we managed the game a little better. Support from inside areas was stronger, our shape was more balanced, and the tracking of runners was much better. A deserved win and a strong reaction from the boys once again.

Shout‑outs 👏

🥇 William — outstanding penalty save, a massive moment!

🔥 Jacob T — tireless work rate, created some great chances and on another day bags himself a goal or two with a bit more composure

💪 All the boys — superb effort, work rate, attitude, and battle across both games

Thank Yous 🙌

A big thank you to all parents for the continued support, and especially to those helping raise much‑needed funds through refreshments on match days — it’s hugely appreciated.
