You knew it was coming and I’ve finally got my arse in gear with a date! Sunday October 18th 10am start, Hulls Strongest Annual Push Pull to end the year with some nice PBs and maybe a little cash in your hand. Continuing the tradition of keeping it different this years events will be Monster Dumbbell and Axle Deadlift.
Same format as before 3 lifts to shift the most weight, medals for each category and trophies and cash for Overall Biggest Total Men and Women and Kg for Kg Strongest Men and Women (Dots).
£30 entry fee including comp shirt.

Quite possibly one of the highlights of the weekend, with Miroslav picking up an injury early on and Jack coming out early and getting unstuck by the 130 it looked like it would stay firmly rooted to the floor. Some sterling efforts by the other competitors and notable single lift attempts from the crowd showed it was possible but it wasn’t until Mark stepped up that we saw it happen.
Our best hopes for this competition were realised as well as the crowd was fantastic! They really got behind all the athletes all day and electrified the atmosphere as they experienced the highs and lows of every attempt, from little kids all the way through to elderly spectators on mobility scooters you could feel them willing the lift for every athlete. So when Mark stepped up and got that lift that whole crowd erupted in cheering for him, I knew if he got the 130 the 140 would go as it’s a little more weathered, still didn’t stop me suggesting he went for the 150 with only 10s left 🤣.
Such devious and lovely stones from Jason at Spartan Atlas Stones, the care he takes in producing them to such a high standard really shows, despite the curses of the athletes on the day 🤣.
Made even harder by the banning of tacky that’s normally used, fortunately however we stipulate and provide quite possibly the best powdered chalk around from Gods Of Grip and it showed!
Can’t wait to see what can be done next year as I’m sure there will be a few after redemption and some notable absences wanting to challenge Marks title as Steampunk Stone Champion.

We’ve been “Punk’d”, Steampunk’d that is! Quick remind to everyone that this weekend we will be up at Filey for the hosting the strongman and Tug o War competitions, that means unfortunately that there will be a few items of equipment missing from the gym from Friday afternoon until Sunday night. Apologies for the inconvenience this will cause and I appreciate your patience and understanding in this.
Kit that will be missing will include but not limited too the Tackyless Stones and Barrel, Sandbags, axles and apollon wheels. We will still have plenty of kit remaining as always for you to play with however. Obviously your all still more then welcome to join us and any last minute heroes that want to step into the competition please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
