National Avenue and County Road North in west Hull will undergo major road and footpath improvements, with works beginning next week.
As a key transport route in west Hull, this next part of the scheme on National Avenue and County Road North will include several major upgrades, such as:
π£ Road and footpath resurfacing
π² Cycle lane improvements
π Traffic signal alterations to improve traffic flow
πΆ The installation of new kerbs
1οΈ Phase 1 (Monday 30 March until Friday 24 April 2026): National Avenue, between the junction of County Road North and Bricknell Avenue, will be closed to all road users.
2οΈ Phase 2 (Monday 6 April until Friday 24 April 2026): The footpath at the junction of County Road North and National Avenue will be closed to allow for resurfacing and reconstruction works. National Avenue will remain closed to all road users.
From, and including, Saturday 25 April until Sunday 3 May, the junction will be open as usual to road users, pedestrians, and cyclists.
3οΈ Phase 3 (Monday 4 May until Friday 22 May 2026): Both road and footpath closures will be in place. During this phase, temporary traffic signals will be in place. However, the left turn onto County Road North from National Avenue will be closed. National Avenue itself will remain open, aside from this restricted turning movement.
