A strong display from one of our defenders today! 💪⚽ Solid at the back, while also making some excellent overlapping runs and showing great confidence carrying the ball forward creating that extra attacker and causing the other team problems.

Grass roots football is back!!! The unmistakable whiff of damp turf and overcooked bacon was in the air as we took to the field at Bilsdon Park to take on Hessle Rangers Pumas this morning.

Hull Utd Whites came out on top in last season’s fixture, but a strong and vocal Pumas side got the better of Utd today, with Hessle getting the well deserved win.

The Citizens, despite some great individual performances and staunch defending, struggled to push forward as a team and found themselves running out of steam and options in the final third.

The fluid passing and desire for the ball, that was exhibited during Wednesdays training, was lacking, and the boys seemed mute and rusty. Credit to the lads after the game though, as their frustration was clear to see. They know they weren’t sharp enough today.

They will do better, and the boys will no doubt be ready to welcome Swanland FC to Haworth Park for the 1st home game of the season next Sunday.

Congratulations to our hosts today and good luck for the season.

⚽ 1st GAME BACK OF THE NEW SEASON! ⚽

Our first game back of the new season and, in the end, a very good result for the boys! 👏🏻

After a very slow start on a difficult pitch, with the grass far too long to allow us to play the football we know we can, the boys went into half-time 3-2 down.

The second half was a completely different story. The boys started to get some football going, moved the ball much better and the goals soon started to flow. 💪🏻⚽

A convincing win in the end, but there’s still lots to work on and plenty we can improve on. Most importantly, we take the positives and move on to next week’s game.

⭐ Parents’ Player — Gio

A constant threat down the left wing, grabbing a couple of goals and battling extremely well for the ball. Great performance, Gio! Keep up the hard work. 💪🏻⚽

⭐ Coaches’ Player — Gabriel

A great start from our newest signing! Gabriel was a constant threat when playing up front, using his pace to cause their defence plenty of problems. He battled hard for the ball and never gave them a moment’s rest.
