🎉 A Day to Remember 🎉
Today, we had the honour of hosting a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar with Darren and Helen Currie, the inspiring heads of Combat Base UK. 🙌🥋 4th Degree Black Belts, Darren and Helen are true pioneers of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the UK and have had a huge influence on the growth of the sport across the country. We are so grateful they took the time to come and share their knowledge with us.
🎯 The Perfect Balance
Darren and Helen delivered just the right amount of technique, allowing plenty of time for drilling. Their explanations were clear, and their focus on concepts made everything much easier to understand and apply.
👊 Adults & Kids Training Together
It was incredible to see both adults and children sharing the mats, learning side by side. Helen did an amazing job engaging with the children and breaking down the techniques in a way they could grasp, while Darren worked with the adults, sharing his years of expertise, and of course his jokes!
🎉 Belt Promotions
The seminar ended on a high with some well-deserved promotions:
🔵 Eddie – A very dedicated grappler who's been consistently improving with every session, promoted to Blue Belt.
🔵 Ted – Only 16 years old, but consistent and disciplined, showing great skills on the mats, promoted to Blue Belt.
🔵 Ruta – Always training with determination, her progress is a reflection of her effort, promoted to Blue Belt.
🔵 Jay – Years of consistent effort with an unwavering commitment to his learning, promoted to Blue Belt.
🟣 Ryan – A key member of the team, showing advanced skills and long-term commitment, earning his Purple Belt!
🟣 Coach Vickie – Our incredible children's coach, highly skilled with a wealth of knowledge and experience, promoted to Purple Belt!
🟤 Coach Andy – Our adult head coach, who continues to make improvements to his jiu-jitsu skills, promoted to Brown Belt, a huge milestone!
👏 Massive congratulations to everyone who earned their promotions—it’s a testament to your hard work and commitment to the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. 💪

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported today’s event. Your energy made it such a success. To the parents who brought their children along, your support means the world to us. And to everyone who came to train, drill, and celebrate, we are so grateful for you being part of our community.
Thank you again to Darren and Helen Currie for their time, expertise, and for continuing to inspire us all with their dedication to the sport.
